OK, I'm finally computerized. Last nights show went fairly smooth, however I know there has to be a better seet-up regarding looking for songs.
Right now I go to "My Computer" and left click on "Removeable F disc" and right click search. Then it goes through ALL of the folders, which takes a while.
I know there has to be a program or a way arrange them to have the possible title or artist come up as I key them in.
Any suggestions?

BTW I'm using a 320gb hard drive that only has about 8gb of free space available.

Yep, lots of hosting programs out there from free to very spendy and they should all make searching easier. Do a search for hosting programs and you will find a wealth of information.

I have Siglos for a hosting program. Computer is 80gb and will not hold all the over 250gb of music that is stored in the hard drive.
Cannot afford a new computer at this time.

I don't use siglos for my hosting program because I don't consider the interface setup as professional looking but Siglos has a way of entering the songs into the database by reading your external drive and then you can search for it by typing either the artist's name or Song Title. When you import the info into the database you are telling the program where the songs are stored. If you use the same usb port, it should come up as the same drive that you imported the data from.

I know I posted on a previous thread where you asked this same question. Get a different program such as RoxBox. Siglos does not have a real song database, which means you spend more time searching for files. RoxBox also has singer history, a nice feature for any bar KJ where you have regulars who often sing the same songs each week.

You must be talking about the karaoke recorder/player when you say siglos does not have a real database. Siglos professional has a database like RoxBox.

I agree he should invest in a better program. Shoot, even JustKaraoke is better than Siglos. The only thing Siglos has over RoxBox, Compuhost and JustKaraoke is that it plays outside discs and places the request in the que.

I didn't know there was a professional Siglos product but I'm guessing the OP does not have that. I guess I should have researched a little before I answered just in case!

RoxBox has an option to play a song from a singer's own disc but it does not work on either my Vista laptop (even with RoxBox running as Administrator) or on my XP one. :( My version of RoxBox is about 2 years old though, I have not purchased an update for quite a while since it is working correctly other than that.

I use Siglos Karaoke Pro and the program searches for songs fine! Remember that you have to "BUILD YOUR DATABASE" through Siglos before the songs are read in and available for searching.
