A FEW blankets on my wife's back and she's ready to haul!

Okay...an 05 Navigator- everything fits perfect in the back and gets covered.

No MORE moving vans i used to use to haul around bouncehouses and inflatables, or trailer hitches to lug around the dang dunk tanks in summer!

I use a Dodge Grand Caravan. Plenty of room, 2 side dors and the rear for access. Stow 'N Go seating, just fold down the rear seats and one of the middle row seats and I'm set.

After hauling in the back of a pu w/cap Ifor years, I went to a 5x10 enclosed trailer with a ramp and have never looked back. yea, sometime parking is a pain but that goes with the territory. The ramp beats lifting into the truck bes and I am able to leave everything in the trailer even spare speakers and stands and other stuff I don't always use. And best of all the trailer I have is pretty much maintainance free.

When I started I has a 95 Pontiac Grand Am, it took using the passenger and rear seat plus the trunk and everything had to be loaded just right or you couldn’t get it all in. I now have an 03 S10 which my equipment fits in really well but then I didn’t have the two 15” Peavey subs the last time I used my system. I’m just hoping I can still get everything in there. If not, I may have to look for a small trailer or better yet buy my own bar and I won’t have to move it at all….. :dancin:

2006 Scion xA!

2xJBL EON 315
2x JBL eon 10 G2
SKB DJ106 for rig
plastic tote box for wires
Audio 2000s flat panel stand
ultimate support speaker wires
couple of flat panels and a touch screen all in one.

Still room in the front for passenger!

or 2007 Toyota Matrix (very nice sliding stuff out of the trunk door with no lip)
room for all the above with room for 2 passengers + driver.

I have also fit 2 complete setups in the matrix but no passenger room!

I like the idea of a trailer if I could get a fairly compact covered one. It would take a little effort reversing it into the garage though as we have a nice steep driveway which changes incline quite abruptly. It would also be kind of tricky at each of the gigs.

I believe you can deduct repair costs, insurance etc for the 'business use' of any vehicle (old or new) but generally it's easier to use the standard mileage deduction. Even after using the standard mileage you can deduct interest costs on the loan. If you itemize the vehicle costs you can't change back to standard mileage the next year.

- Jonn

As for lugging equipment from the vehicle to the setup anything with wheels can be really helpful!!!

Just bought an 05 chevy trailblazer ext. All the seats fold down to make an almost flat sliding area. I hauled my 2 12" yorkies, 1 behringer 15" 1 18" carvin sub, one very large gator bag, my home made rack, lights, fog, etc into it a week ago Saturday night. All fit fairly easily. I also have a 5 by 8 cargo trailer that I just got licensed ($20) that I plan on using in the near future once I have it set up to keep everything from sliding. I also want to make a ramp for it. I want to leave the equipment in it to cut down loading/unloading (from house to vehicle to venue to vehicle to house).

I use Ford Windstar SE equipment and I never faced any problem.
It is going easily and I have also a cargo van.

Don't discount the Honda Element if you ever need something that is medium sized but has alot of cargo space. The front-wheel drive makes the cargo area "humpless". Both seats come right out in a matter of minutes. Or they fold up and fit up/and to the side. I have never been able to haul so much and get good gas milage even (22-26). Crazy. Have a look at one before you buy anything else unless you know you need something huge or tiny.

My regular gig I use the Bar owner's equipment already to go. If I do a wedding or private function,my regular roadie (lol) usually takes my gear in his estate car (SUV). BUT I have been known to squeeze it all in a Ford Fiesta.....

We use a Windstar - removed the seats in the rear; one 15" sub, two SM350s, LARGE heavy plastic trunk for computer, rack, crate with books, TV stand and 13-inch tv, 3 mic stands, stands for the speakers (an extra for when we don't use the sub) -- everything fits fine, easy to get in and out (lower than cargo van). Don't load and unload it. We also have a Ford extra cab that hauls the band's 14-foot trailer but we've never opted for using a trailer for karaoke gear for parking reasons.
