The demo movie is for songfinder... not this one.

The Super Remote tool searches exactly like JustKaraoke with keywords, it finds all the "partial" keywords for a particular field (artist, title, etc) - not all keywords for all fields, but all keywords for a field. It is more accurate this way. "Elv Pres" will yield Elvis Presley (and Presley, Elvis) and "Nev Love Ag" will yield "Never Fall In Love Again".

At first we decided that you don't need the ID/Album column (looked cleaner), but by request, most explain that they have multiple songs from various manufacturers so we added the ID column recently. If you have actual duplicates (meaning same song, same manufacturer), please clean these up first - they shouldn't be there anyhow. For assistance, have a look at our song book creator program and use the Remove Duplicates feature. The databases are partially compatible and will allow you to run the feature.

I am trying to eliminate our karaoke books. I have seen setups with just a keyboard and monitor where singers check to see if their song is available.

Having seen an great number of drink-soaked karaoke books in bars, I am curious as to the methods used to prevent the same happening with keyboards... touch-screen monitors with no keyboard are a possible solution, but not infallible to the usual slosh-parties that are so common amongst drunken karaoke attendees.

I usually keep the touchscreen close. So when I see the "usual slosh-parties" possibly with drink in their hand walking up to the screen, I just walk up to them and let them tell me their song request to avoid abuse of my equipment.
So far the touch screen has worked out great and I really don't regret the investment.

How can I see those changes? I redownloaded the program but now it tells me my trial is over. What do I have to do to reset it, so I can actually test the newer version?

Like was already mentioned.....some people like to look through a book in the privacy of their table......they don't have a particular song in mind, but they enjoy seeing what's available, an just maybe something will jump out at them, and they might give it a go.
Some people know exactly what they're looking for, and a kiosk might be just what they need.................if you're into making more people happy.....use both.... :D

With the proliferation of smart phones (droid/blackberry/iphone) there's really not a huge need for books anymore.

I uploaded a copy of my "book" to our website.

http://www.7bamboo.com/songs.pdf

Usually there's at least one smartphone user in a group. Other than that they just look stuff up on the autOKfe kiosk.

Oh and touch screens are pretty rugged. I have 2 mounted on my booth. People will self police if they see someone getting out of line. If you paid more than $80 for a used ELO you got ripped off.

Yep. They are tougher than most people think they are.

I paid $70 for mine and they've been holding up great for over two years including bouncing them around in a truck and freezing them (in the same truck overnight). Not so much as a single hiccup.

When the trial expires it will not let you make the requests but you can still review the listings and make searches to see the changes described. Once activated you can continue making requests.

Recenetly joined a DJ company in Indiana, as their engineer, and am still a little new to all the lingo. We are using Tricerasoft and are looking at the remote request tool.

when you say ELO, are you referring to a touchscreen for $80? could you clarify ELO and maybe where you might be getting them.

thank You

Actually the smartphone takes a step above. I have a place here that the KJ has an app to the iphone that has the ability to search the book and request it by phone. If I wasn't a regular or a blackberry user, I'd download it.

elotouch.com maker of touchscreens.

I picked up a 15" elotouch (serial) LCD from ebay for $71.

I use the monoprice 100mm VESA wall mounts at the venue, purchased a pair so I could put one on a picture frame which covers the mount when I'm not there!

The iPhone app is used with kJams (I think). Still working on my own version which should be a generic smartphone app on lan over wifi!

What do you use for a touchscreen?

Hey Steve, good to see you around here =)

I picked up a MSI All-In-One Touchscreen computer:

Given, it's a little more pricey, but it looks nice and is easy to put away.
