I appreciate the invite, but I don't like competition. I got over that when I was much younger. When I was a Bike Mechanic, I had to have the fastest turbocharged rocket on the block. Then I got into auto mechanics, and built some hairy engines. They didn't last long, but they flew. When I got into Painting I would'nt stop short of perfection, if I had to redo 100 times.

At karaoke, which is a hobby ( I am doing 1 show a week for fun) I have The Ultimate system in my area. and turn down plenty of work, because I dont need it. I do an Elvis act complete with a copy of the licensed aloha from hawaii (studded eagle suit).

So, I really don't need to impress anyone, I know where I am and what I am capable of. I don't really care what anyone thinks about it. Maybe one day I will post a short clip, but I really don't care, Life's too short to worry about opinions.

Dr. D, with due repect, I cannot fully agree with some of your statements.


For one, the SS was not founded for us in order to impress other people. The intention of the SS was meant for people to get the oppertunity to show their works, and get comments. I for one do appreciate people telling me, and I quote



I sing (if that's what you can call my quacking) because I enjoy it. Even so, if someone tells me to check my phrasing, I take it to heart. I'll listen to my own sub and try to learn from it.

Myself, I do agree with one statement you made,
and I feel the same about myself, but that does not mean that I cannot improve. All of us here have room for improvement.

I also realise that there are a few people out there for the competition and for showing what they have, there are even people that get all pissy if they don't get the reponse as expected, but Asi es la vida!

Having been here for a while, I have seen a lot of improvement with some of our members, mainly they took some of the building critique and applied it to their singing/mixing.

another point.... you can prefer NOT to be ranked... and that will solve the "competition" angle you're presenting!

Dr D. I post for fun.. personally I don't care at all.. just like to do it for fun.. I'm always short of perfection!!! Atleast when it comes to vocals..
