hamsmich, any updates on the zed 12fx? How's it performing and do you still like it?

yes I love it. but I wish it was smaller, and I still feel I probably should have went with the soundcraft FX8. If they had a zed 8 I would have bought that. but they don't. I was impressed with the special effects on the zed, but that is only in comparison with the behringer 1202FX, which wasn't very good. If you dont mind the size (large for my needs), and you don't mind a 1.1 usb interface, go with it over the soundcraft. if you want USB built in and like the extra channels and long faders, go with the zed. I also like the Equalizers way more than I thought I would on the zed. the microphones seem crisp, clear and powerful at any volume when the 1202FX seemed to break down at higher volumes, although it was good enough. If I was more experienced I could talk more about it. I'm sure the zed does way more than my capabilities allow, but hopefully I will grow into it! For it's size it is probably the best one to get for the price with USB/FX onboard. If you want something a good bit smaller without the onboard usb and probably better FX (not 100% sure), get the soundcraft.

sweet! when I bought mine, nobody had them, there were supposed to come in around fEB1. so I had to get mine off ebay. worked out. make sure the people you are ordering it from ACTUALLY HAVE IT. some places will just back order without letting you know at first. the ZED12fx was hard to find. let me know what you think of it. maybe you can give me a few pointers.

AMS is one of the best places i've experienced online. They'll match almost any price you can find. Their service is top notch, good return policy, and fast delivery. there was a 10% discount on their giftcard if you you bought it during the sales on thanksgiving. My Zed was shipped out a day after i purchased it. they send the tracking #. I highly recommend AmericanMusicalsupply.com.

Oh, have you heard? zed 8fx is going to be released around april. It seems the same as the zed fx, but has less inputs. 300 for 8fx.

I picked up the Zed12FX yesterday and I am having fun with it. The USB interface is great. USB 1.1 is ok for me. I find spending a little time reading the manual and try to follow the schematic diagram help. The USB connection to Sonar instruction in the manual is very helpful.

Hamsamich: You may want to give Sonar a second try. Pay attention to the manual describing the function of the buttons below the USB connection for sending signal to the USB port. I use pre-fader and adjust the stereo input channel gain and microphone channel gain individually.

I use FX setting 10 'Reverb with pre-delay' and find the setup is good for vocal. Anybody out there with suggestion for vocal effect setup on the zed12fx?
