Hmmm, to me it definitely sounds like "cheating" to use this pitch correction stuff. What would be the point? You'd only be kidding yourself.

HMMMMMMM, to me it doesn't sound like cheating.... NOT in a studio anyway...
if i spend 20 grand to do a cd in a studio, i better be on key...
major pitch problems i can fix, but my ears r not that good to hear ever time i go off just a tad...every so slightly, if i spend 20 grand, i intend for that cd to be sold and have it promoted, it better sound the best they can get it....without altering my voice...of course i wouldn't be mixing it, but again i don't want to be called back in to sing everytime he/she hears me slightly off key...fix that sucker...lol... and 20 grand is NOTHING compared to what they really spend to record...

thats why alotta studios, will record a song but send it to another studio to have it mastered....some studio's can record great but some other studio may mix and master better, they want the best they can get, and spend the bucks to get it to...

ONE TAKE is fine, but if ur recording for sell rrrrrr even if ur posting it on S/S, why not get it the best u can...saying that, i almost never sing a song over 2 to 3 times, i get bored real easy, and i do punch in...

i have a feeling if everyone posted there 1st take of a song and i do mean 1st take...it would be on the bloopers page...i no alotta mine would...so i'll do it 2 to 3 times if i have to...

i went into a major studio once to record and keep in mind the song we recorded we had sang 6 nights a wk for like 3 mo...so we thought we knew it pretty well...6 hrs later we walked out....1 song....no all of it wasn't just my singing...ty godddd...lol....but still it takes time to get something really right....and my ears can't hear REALLY RIGHT....

soooooooo NO i don't think its cheating, unless ur singing it live...then i feel its cheating....JMHO

Ok What Now, If that is indeed your real name,

I agree, that in a studio recording session it would be different. Sure, if you're paying out the big bucks like that, you'd most certainly want the end product to sound great! I guess what I was referring to was if someone were using electronics to completely alter their voice, well then, to me anyway, that just doesn't seem right. That would seem phony to me. But a little tweaking here and there would be acceptable I'm sure.

I'd love to record something in a major recording studio like that! That must have been a blast huh? I know I'd sure have gotten a kick out of it!
I KNEW that you had to have sang professionally, the very first time I heard you!! Why aren't you still doing it?

lolllll@ Ok What Now, If that is indeed your real name...to funny...

sorry if i misunderstood you...
yes it was a blast...i promise the first time i heard the mic i almost died...you could just set there and say TEST all day long and never get tired of hearing it...the sound was out of this world....

the draw back to recording in a great studio is, you then know that thats the best you will ever sound...and i have never liked anything i have recorded, i think alotta people r like that...not knowing how u would sound lets you keep thinking...yeaaaaa i bet i would sound great to if i had those big recording studio's recording me...lol....

i have a friend who just recorded in a top studio in nashville, i wasn't to impressed with the vocals....not for the bucks....they can twick you, and work there magic but its still ur voice on the line....

so if you ever get the chance... be prepared that when you walk out, you might just be saying....lord i thought i would sound better then that.... is THAT the best i can sound?....i did...others loved it, but i didn't....
they should charge just to walk in and say test on there mic..lol...they would make a killing.....

also keep in mind that they can pay something like 5000.00 for a mic

studio monitors can cost up to 50,000 EACH

can you hear the differents between a set of monitors costing 10,000 and ones costing 50,000? lollll...i no i can't..

WHY DID I QUIT? hmmmmm....i got old and so did IT.....i just got burn't out from all of it....it takes its toll over the years....
its not the life everyone thinks it is....THEY OWN YOU...i didn't like that..
you sing & record....when, how, where, and only if/and when they want you to.... ty for asking....now go and test out there sound....
