I use PCDJVJ on my laptop for gigs which tend to be more music orientated ie weddings etc....but,just like Virtual dj,the keychange is poor...so when I am hosting Karaoke I find the 08 version of Sax n Dottie is far superior...great keychange...

Did you miss the part that 64 bit windows refuses to work with older 32 bit programs?

Not the case with Compuhost. I should know, I run it several nights a week on a Windows 7 64 system without a problem.

tbreen

I run Hoster on 64 Bit Vista as well with no issues.

Gotta jump in here and recommend Karma http://latshawsystems.com/ProductDetails_Karma.aspx. They support 64 bit, the rotation manager is excellent and the sound is fantastic. try the trial download....

Costa, make sure your anti-virus isn't running, or any other programs for that matter......also, hidden spyware can overwhelm the computer's cpu...these things will cause your puter to lock up.......good luck

i have tried it myself and i know it doesn't work on 64 bit they even say on their site they say to stay away from 64 bit
however i think it is great on 32 bit which i know it works well on
and i agree the sound quality is great

You can disagree all you want, but I'm running the latest version (2010.1.28) on my laptop with Vista 64 bit, so which version did you try that didn't work? They only started supporting 64 bit around the end of 2009.

I refuse to use a key changer. They all sound like crap to me. If you can't sing a song in the key it was written in you shouldn't be singing it.

do you know how many artists would never have become famous if you couldn't change the key of a song?........ how dare you..

as far as justkaraoke, it's ok for the price, but I do feel the key changer doesn't sound very good to me......just my opinion, and I use it as a backup, and at home sometimes......I'd say it's worth 25 bucks to have around.....only my opinion, and yes I'd sing if you used it....

+1 on the key changer being bad. That has been my experience with JustKaraoke as well.

I use JustKaraoke and it works pretty dang good in my opinion. But I was just wondering mcky57, why do you think the keychanger is no good? I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, but why do you find it "bad"? Define "bad". Whenever I use the keychanger, it works just like it should. So, what is "bad"?

No expert on key changing but on compuhost using the keychanger I can now hit the high notes on Dream On and More than a Feeling. Works for me.

Feel really strongly about this.
You should only sing in copy...
There are world class singers out there who have a particular range.
Because they cant hit the top note should they unfulfill their passion.
I have taken some singers down 3 semitones and they have been awesome.
I would sadly miss doing that.
So would the punters.
In copy you can play with octaves and still make it work.
I use compuhost and have not had a problem with key change,
I can go down 3 or up 4 (Would not go more)
I have had awesome results.
I have had singers steal a song by key change
Would you really want to deprive them of that
Ok there are occasions where will it will not work.
It is like saying you paint a fantastic picture but wrong key dictates you are not allowed to use it. You must hide your magic,
We are talking about releases that the original singers cant do.
It could kill so much, dont forget it is common practice to release a record mixed a semitone up.

For myself, I never take a song more than one full tone either way, prefferring only a half tone. Though I think JK is a great program for the price, even a half-step up or down sounds strange to me.
I've had JK for quite some time, maybe I'm lacking something vs. an updated version.......don't get me wrong, I do think it's a good program.
