:roll: OK ...FEELING STUPID HERE, WITH NO CLUE HOW TO POST A SONG....

I DOWNLOADED AUDACITY, LIKE SOMEONE ELSE I READ ABOUT, HAVENT A CLUE WHAT TO DO WITH IT.....I STARTED THE TUTORIAL, BUT WHAT IT SAID TO DO DIDNT WORK FOR ME...SO HERE I SIT SCRATCHING MY HEAD....

I HAVE SEVERAL CDS MY DADDY BURNED FOR ME OF ME SINGING, BEFORE HE GOT TERMINALLY ILL.... CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO CONVERT THEM TO MP3 FORMAT SO THAT I COULD POST SOME OF THEM?

IS THERE A POSTING SONGS FOR DUMMIES BOOK LAYING AROUND HERE ANYWHERE? LOVE THIS SITE, PLEASE TEACH ME HOW TO BE PART OF IT....

If the CD's are already made, all you need to do to convert them to MP3 is to rip them using one of your players (except Windows Media Player). If you don't have any other players, Winamp or Musicmatch are freewear. You can download them at their respective sites. I like J River Media Center which is not freeware, but you can download a functional trial version.

There are also other conversion methods which I'm sure some of the others will tell you about, but I like the method described above.

goldwave has a wonderful conversion process, and it's total freeware!

The recording program "Audacity" can convert them if you play them from your karaoke machine through a sound card.. the software has a plug-in available to convert to mp-3 and is an "open source" product. a.k.a. Freeware. PM me for a web addy.

The quality is extremely high. :wink:
