Killswitch - My Curse
STP - Sex Type Thing
Metallica - King Nothing

Why? With the different sites that are now available for making Custom Discs, why do you need to know about songs that are only available on one disc?

As far as a "good list of songs" goes, well, everyone's tastes are different. What's considered "good" to you may suck to me.

For the mosrt part, the 5 disk Honky Cat collection has a good amount of songs unavailable on other disks or in custom format. The 11 disk Dangerous collection also attempted to cover things unavailable elsewhere.

Can't give you a list of specific songs ( and would appreciate knowing a use for it), however, like 'em or not, SGB has a lot of onsies.

The thing is, if a song is only available from one mfr., there may be a reason for it.

It's to further make my collection bigger. I'm really only intrested in rock / alternative songs post 1990. I pride myself having one of the biggest Alternative and Rock collections in my area. Since Pop Hits and Top Hits montly both stopped making their Modern Rock CD+G it harder to come by.

I've found that usually anything worth having is available on more than one label. Unless of course it was PULLED from production for one reason or another.

Of course there are those songs that are usually not high on the singer request list but are favorites of one customer etc. Personally I'll buy anything a customer requests but never go out looking for OBSCURE songs just to have.

That goes back to my other question then.... Why do they have to be only available on one disc? They can be on multiple manufacturers discs. Or, are you asking for a specific collection of songs on 1 disc as vrsus finding 5 of those songs on 5 separate discs, and then going out to buy them (but not really wanting (or caring for) the other 14 songs on those 5 discs)?

I want the songs that were only made on one disc i don't understand why is that hard to comprehend.

If they were only on one disc other KJ's are less likely to have them, giving my collection more value.

Crap or not, I want the stuff no one else has, every series has a few I wouldn't own a SGB if Dynamite Hack and the few Southpark songs weren't only made by this manufacture.

Other gems I can think of are Green Jelly - 3 Little Pigs and Anthrax - Only these are the only 2 reasons I know of to own a NuTech disc

Alice in Chains - Man in The Box only made on AMS1504

There has to be a handful of gems on lesser manufactures that just were not made on anthing else.

I was hoping with a pool of KJ's a list will come up instead I got a buch of questions why I want the list.

So please if you can think of any songs that were only ever released on one CD+G please list them along with the disc number.

It's too big a list. If I had access to a real database -- no, not the crippled access you get with Fast Tracks et al -- then I could find these things by way of query. Until then, you just go to your favorite database and search major artists. You will find some.

For example:

http://www.musicbookdeluxe.com/dealerse ... &B1=Search

There are at least 7 songs that are unique to various disks. (I don't count the HKC0002 disk, as I have seen those tracks and they are not real karaoke.)

Rinse and repeat.

I have Man in the Box - got it from Selectatrack but I can't remember what brand it is. It is not AMS1504 though. I think it is SBI.

Actually SBI has this & blows the AMS version away musically - I have both versions. May want to check at Selectatrack, they have MANY songs that aren't available anywhere else.

I'm finding this to be true Lonnie. LOVE my Selectatrack orders. Have two coming this week or next. I listened to the Susan Boyd version of Wild Horses - can't wait for that one to arrive. They do a very great job on UK artists.

I remember when Amerising 1504 was a highly sought after disk. But with the advent of SBI and their AIC, you really can't give that disk away anymore. Sure it's "rare" in the sense that it's hard to find, but it won't get any use in your rig anymore.

And those my friends, are the magic words; "it won't get any use in your rig anymore."

I would much rather have a SMALLER library of songs that are used than a zillion duplicates of songs no one bothers to touch anymore.

Hello DJ Cam!

I know that Faith No More - Midlife Crisis is on a Sunfly Most Wanted disc but the other songs you mentioned:
Killswitch - My Curse
STP - Sex Type Thing
Metallica - King Nothing

have never been released on a karaoke disc, at least none that I know of. I sent you an email to get some more info. I hope to hear back from you.

I also like to have rare songs in my collection. I find a lot of them from Karaoke-Version.com. And like the other folks said on your post, the days of buying a entire disc just to have that one rare track are almost extinct, not when there are licensed custom burn sites such as selectatrack.com and karaokedownloads.ca that allow you to instantly get that song you want - no filler. Although I did recently spend $25 for an out of print Singing Machine CD just to finally have Heartbreak Beat by the Psychedelic Furs on karaoke, and it didn't even have graphics!

Talk to you soon. Thanks DJ Cam!

Kevin

But Danny... Don't you get it? He doesn't want to go the Custom Disc route. He wants to buy discs that have only 1 or 2 rare songs on them (which were only released by one Manufacturer), in the hopes that no other KJ is going to buy that same disc.... thus separating him from the others.

Not only that, he wants us to figure out what he thinks is a "Gem" (within the rock/ alternative songs post 1990 genre) and then make sure they meet his criteria (the song is ONLY on 1 single CDG), and then give him that list to go shopping with.

Is that about right, Liquiddye?

Barricades And Brick Walls is only available on a disc from Capitol Karaoke In Australia.

Not that it matters, but I believe that the theme from the Spiderman Cartoon show
is only available on SC's SC8438, which has been pulled from production.
and

Bobby Vee's The Night Has A Thousand Eyes only available on Sunfly's SF-064

It was available on the older Pioneer laserdiscs (cdg too I believe) as well, I have it.
