What are some of the recent releases ( 6 months or so ) that you feel are the most requested and a MUST BUY for any KJ. I've been adding new songs as requested but with the new summer season upon us and and an expected new gig I want to be sure I have all bases covered.

Thanks in advance

As our request list includes things like "Honey" by Bobby Goldsboro, it would probably be of no help to you. But of the new songs we decided to get in anyway, we have gotten the best response for anything by the Zac Brown Band.

Oh--we did get a request for "I Know You Want Me" by Pitbull but that was the bartendress wanting to hear it and not from anyone actually wantint to sing it. But she says it is big with the teens for dancing.

Finding very few males can actually sing the harmony. I end up 'helping' them, but yes, the song is popular.

Lady Gaga Bad Romance and Telephone BIG here...but I have several young women singers who are avid Gaga'rs.

Yeah it's not an easy harmony, it is right in the middle of where my voice starts to crack - especially since I never fully regained my vocals back froma couple years ago. Although some days are better than others.
I really only have one gal that has been wearing out Gaga, however I am picking up Bad Romance this week, so that may change, actually had a few requests for that one the last couple weeks.
Another to add that has been hot is Alice In Chains - Your Decision and Check My Brain - both these songs have been smoking almost nightly for over 2 months.

Lady gaga's "speechless" is very popular down here. Carrie Underwood's "last name" and "cowboy casanova" are also getting huge airtime. Michael Buble and anything by Taylor Swift.

I have been getting some Gaga requests. She is clearly one of the artists out there who are very hard to cover well.

I get a lot of absolutely horrible versions of people trying to sing her, but then I also have a singer that can do a very good job on her.

Yep that harmony is tough. Haven't hit it yet with all the times I've heard it on the radio. But I'm still tryin'. Once I come across a place with it, if I don't get it first, I'll try harder so I can find a partner and give it a try.

I have most of those, Paparazzi & Cowboy Cassanova have been done on occasion at our show.
Had 3 more requests last night for Bad Romance however, so this one could be a biggy.

And what disc is that song on, GEM? since the original poster asked about songs that he could purchase.

That's true ! -- It seems that some singers will request a song the day it is released ...many don't understand the Karaoke concept and that it could take some time to get it released for Karaoke. Heck I still get people running to sing along with a REGULAR MP3 song and ask...WHERE ARE THE WORDS ON THE SCREEN ..arrrghhhhhh
