Hey all,

Heading to LV for a convention next week and hoping to sing a little while there (in between drinking & gambling of course :) ).

Any recommendations for decent Karaoke on/near the strip?

Do a search on here and we did a thread about it. I went a couple weeks ago, and did the Imperial Palace near the sports betting area they have karaoke there, Ellis Island on Koval has weekly karaoke, it depends on when you go other places has karaoke on certain days.

Google can tell me venues. I am looking for reviews from people who have actually BEEN and had a good time. Not just who has Karaoke, but who has the BEST Karaoke.

Ellis Island is very good, and top food too..

And they are 7 nights, not weekly.. Eat early, or stand in line.

Head West on Charleston to the karaoke shop.. They have a couple of papers with listings. or go here. http://lvlem.com/

Yellow pages will give you an address.. (There are two storefronts in town)

Many gigs are 7 nights.

If the Imperial Palace has the same KJ as when I went there, I wouldn't waste my time with going there!

I'll second Murray's comment..... I was just there in December and went to the Imperial. While we had fun (duh, we were doing karaoke in Vegas!)... if I lived there, it wouldn't probably be a show I'd attend regularly. Ok sound, nice bar, not the greatest song selection, and the KJ was ok (very nice) but kinda distracted a lot. (drunk? maybe)

Bill's Gambling Hall (just South of Imperial Palace) has karaoke 3 nights. One of the KJ's that works that location is really good, the other two I can do without. But most important, on any night that location has the best crowd I have experienced at any show in Vegas. BTW, the guy who operates the Imperial Palace show also manages the shows at Bill's, but like others, I find his show lacking at IP and I am pretty sure that he can be bribed!

Ellis Island is a good place to visit for karaoke and also because of the prices and the quality of the food served by the 3 different venues. And, karaoke is seven nights a week until 3am. Corey (f) is there most nights and used to be very attentive. Of late, however, she tends to "disappear" on extended breaks which has caused me to avoid going there as frequently as I once had! It may be reachable on foot depending on where you're staying.

The best karaoke, IMHO, is at Kelley's Pub (east of strip). Leslie (f) is great and has been voted best KJ four years in row. Ambiance is very good, but you'll need wheels or a taxi to get there!

Kelley's Pub
Thursdays Fridays and Saturdays 8pm
702-458-3646
(Always call to confirm)
3430 E Tropicana Ave @pecos
Las Vegas, NV USA

Lastly, a gal named Tara runs a good show, but like many she bounces around a good deal. So check the listings for where she may be at when your in town!

I enjoyed the Wed-Thur karaoke at the Tropics Lounge in the Tropicana mall hallway bar. You sing on a stage that is on the shopping mall walk, and you get lots of people walking by who will stop and watch. It's cool when you get a little crowd. 8-)

I don't know if that is still there, but it was 2 years ago and I had a blast.
