OMG could it really be him?? No Way?? For all the crap he's spouted over the years about being a professional, being the best, spending 10's of thousands, if that is him I'd almost find it humorous.

I see two names on there that I know personally.
One guy is on his own, small time guy at a really small, crappy bar, and I feel sorry for him that this sh** storm is coming his way.
The other is a 3 unit multi-rig who is the only KJ in my area that I know of that is paid better than me, and they have always rubbed it in my face. When I was first starting out, I filled in for this guy at about 6-7 of his shows with the understanding that he'd return the favor, then when I needed him he consistently turned me down and ALWAYS acted like he was "above" working at my venue. I am (not so) secretly pretty happy that he has some karma coming his way.
I might be heading to this guy's venue this week to see if they need a karaoke guy

I have gone to a lot of karaoke in Miami, and I note seeing three of the operators of some shows I have gone to. No venues I went to that I know of, but some of those names could be operators of bars.
Two of the operator names I am not surprised to see, as my look at their songbook screamed pirate all the way. One is a bit surprising.

No, I don't think it is him, but the one they are referring to publicly advertises 220000 (that's 220 THOUSAND) songs right on their website! Come on, at a dollar a song, it would take better than 21 years, doing one show a week at $200, to recoup the investment! This is getting RIDICULOUS!
http://bigdogkaraoke.com
Update: I see they have removed the "220000 Songs" statement from their website, most likely as a result of the lawsuit, but it's still cached by google, check it out by googling "big dog karaoke florida" and clicking the "Cached" link at the bottom of the listing.

Now that I've gone through some of the company Web sites from the lawsuit, there are some BIGGGGG venues here in the Tampa Bay area that some of these "entertainment" companies have their multi-rigs in.
I'm going to be visiting some of these big venues near me VERRRRRY soon!!

Let us know if you get some gigs out of this. That would definitely go a long way about settling the debate about whether or not there is any benefit to honest KJs from Sound Choice's action.

I have heard of boasting, but c'mon. Are there even 220,000 different karaoke songs in existence?
Reminds me of that Austin Powers scene where he asks for the Billion dollar ransom and they all crack up.

Oh no, now Big Dog is boycotting SC and is now advertising a mere 180,000 songs. . I bet he's also selling swampland too.

220,000 songs???? OH MY GOD!!! THE AMOUNT OF DUPLICATES MUST BE OUT OF THIS WORLD. My guess would be that more than half of that number is nothing but duplicates. Is having 25 or 50 versions of CRAZY or MY WAY supposed to impress the average karaoke singer? For every song that is only on ONE DISC, there are hundreds of songs that are on dozens of discs and these pirates seem to have every version of these songs in their data bases. It would be nice to see just how many individual titles there are listed in KJ Pro's data base if you could somehow delete all the duplicates and the all of the versions of songs "with vocals". KJ Pro lists over 395,000 songs. I would bet that there are not many more than 100,000 individual titles in the whole data base. Does anyone know how many single titles there are available on karaoke discs?

I THINK I know one of those people, and if it's the one I know, it's a disc based show. Just sayin'....
