This is very confusing to me.....when manufacturers mention pitch and tempo, they seem to have somehow tied the two together!?!?!?!?

What I need is a CD player:
1.Minimum features
2.Play a cd, and let me change from the original key to one that is more suited for a singer......example three notes lower
3.Maintain the tempo of the original CD
4.Quality

Suggestion and/or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

I believe you are looking for a CDG player with a "KEY CHANGER"
This usually moves the entire key of the song up or down 1/2 step at a time.

Key changer is different than TEMPO/picth changers which seem to speed up or slow down the song.

you can start here :

Dual Tray Pioneer PD-V10g. Probably one of the best (if not the best) CDG player. It has all the features you mentioned.

Drawback: can't play DVD or VCD. I've been using mine flawlessly for 8 years. They're very hard to find nowadays. one available @ ebay:
