Some cause I just heard them toooooooo much and some because of their length....
I think its regional . Franklin isn't that far from Lewisburg. Kid's list matches mine. On the other hand, some of the songs that others have listed, I would like to hear once in awhile. When I lived in Michigan, the lists were inverted.

Norm..
Anything played alot repetedly in a karaoke show Night after Night (just like on radio) becomes hated or people actually want them removed from the playlist after a period of time.

Ok I have a good one, there are some songs that people should not be allowed to sing, i.e., Bohemian Rhapsody. Was in Vegas and a guy and 2 girls got up to sing that one and they were trashed and in the interim they trashed the song. I told the KJ he should consider removing that from his book. Oh and then there is Stairway to Heaven or American Pie, nothing like half an hour before the show ends and you get someone who has signed up to one of these. Paradise by the Dashboard light, I saw someone gonged over that one.
I never seem to make it through the night without Goodbye Earl, Friends in Low Places, God Bless the USA, but that is just country and those songs are always the songs that get the crowd involved, you can't knock them for that. But I am tired of hearing Redneck Woman .

American Pie, Paradise By The Dashboard Lights, Stairway To Heaven. I have rarely heard them done well and they are tiresome even then. Also I can't say that I liked them even by the origanal artists (yes boys and girls, I'm old enough to remember ) when they were new on AM radio (mainly because of their length). The clincher is when the KJ does them him or herself. with a congested rotation, nontheless! I really have seen and heard that done by some of the KJs around here. I'd stop going to those particular shows if I had viable alteratives avilable aside from staying home.

Here's a personal story.
I have a woman who comes to my shows and her address is Main Street, Ballad Hell. (specializing in Carpenters and 1950's movie ballads)
She is a friend, so I am always badgering her to find and sing some peppier songs.
On week she asks me if I could find ticket to ride by the Carpenters. I was thrilled! I had never heard the Carpenters version, but I like the Beatles, and by God it's an up tempo song!
So I go out and buy the Sunfly Carpenters disc, Ticket to Ride track no. 1.
Next time she is at the show she sees it, puts in the song slip and I cue it up. AAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
To get a sense of what this thing is like, get your Beatles 45 out and play it at 33.
I've actually had people offer me LARGE sums of money to make that song go away, because she always chooses to sing it at the most inopportune times. Just when the party gets going she'll turn in this snoozer, and it's like in the old movies when someone pulls that cord on the train bringing it to a screetching halt!
my vote: Ticket to Ride by the Carpenters

Yeah, everything from Grease. I love Crazy but yep, too much. Same with My Way, boots, mack the knife, I got you babe. American Pie: I saw one guy try this for his first karaoke song ever ... got up and walked out halfway thru and we never saw him again. Bobby McGee? Heard it, been there, done that.

I actually do a pretty good rappers delight... I use it for filler on REAL slow nights... (it's also 7 1/2 minutes long).
If I never heard another struggling through:
Paradise by the Dashboard Light
Summer Nights
Love Shack
it would be great...
The really sad thing is that you find a guy that's good, but the girl sucks, or vice versa on most duets. On that VERY rare occasion you find a pair that sing the song well it makes up for every other time I was praying for the end of time... or at least the end of the song.
And everyone thinks they can sing Love Shack when they're drunk... funny thing is they forget there's words besides the chorus.(doh!)

Redneck Woman hasn't made it to Lewisburg yet. I can Hardly wait. The Devil Went Down To Georgia is our latest arrival. I used to like hearing it...... Now .

My Heart Will Go On - This just goes on... and on... and on... makes me want to go down with the ship!
Escape (The Pina Colada Song) - Can you believe this was actually a hit?
Ice Ice Baby - Sug Knight should have gone and dumped him over the balcony!
I Will Always Love You - Stirs up visions of old ladies in the Alps, stoned on acid, trying to yodel.
Lady In Red - She's probably red after hearing this musical spooge.
Seasons In The Sun - Jacques Brel should have pistol whipped Terry Jacks for ever releasing this cheese.
Feelings - Should be called "Squealings." Like in "Deliverance". EEEEEEE! EEEEEEE!
American Pie - Also known as the "Time to go to the bathroom song." (My songs with the 1:32 breaks are a close second!
Achy Breaky Heart - Someone stab my ears. My achy breaky ears!
The Cha-Cha Slide - Me no dancy.
