It's seem funny that the karaoke scene is taking the road that music took with Napster/Filesharing took 12 years ago. I agree that for what the recording companies do they should get paid for, but when you sell a downloadable version, how can you tell how the copy was obtained by the host. I am not condoning stealing, and I know some people pay for rapid share accounts which in turn should give a percentage of the proceeds back to these companies (division of the funds would be the tricky part) but it would guarantee more profits for them all. Now in defense of the consumer, how many karaoke disc do you have with the same songs on them. I must have a dozen + Sound Choice CD's that have the same song or songs on them, and still paid the $29.99 to get to be able to obtain the 2 different songs I wanted. In retrospect, who is scamming who. From what I can see most of all the new music is hip hop which is ok for the ladies, but what about the guys, where is the rock? Guess its easier to make a disc from music that was originally sampled and synthesized as opposed to getting musicians to actually play instruments. So are they just removing the lyrics and adding the graphics. There are many angles that shoudl be considered here. Thanks for listening and lets all get out and sing tonight.

That seems like an interesting situation. Someone buys someone else's CDG collection and then rips the tracks to a hard drive and then turns right around and sells the discs to someone else who does the same thing and somehow, the discs wind up in the oriiginal owner's hands. Is that really that much different than selling loaded hard drives?

Yes!
I can't even guess how you arrived at that one.
