I have my compuhost library backed up on a seagate external hard drive. If I transfer the file back to my laptop with the new HD installed will it also bring compuhost back to my computer or do I have to communicare with compuhost. What is the standard procedure. i have an HP LT with windows vista.

I don't have Compuhost, but I would think you need to re-install the Compuhost program on the new hard drive.

all you need to do is reinstall Compuhost on the new drive. All you registration info is on the security dongle. The only thing you lose is your singer's history. That's it.

I use Hoster, but I would imagine that after you re-install Compuhost, you need to import the new drive into the programs database. This takes me like 3 hours. I point the add son/s to my new disc, and wait for it to inventory and add the songs to the database.

If you can get hold of "Get data back NTFS"
It is very good.
I use it 2 - 3 times a week. For years.
I have really good success rate.
You may even save your history data.

Do you have to have the old hard drive to recover data. I have never tried before so I am not up on data recovery. I had to send my crashed drive back to HP as part of the warranty.

You are right Severan.
I evaluated Compuhost and RoxBox. Both took only 20 minutes or less to do all my karaoke and DJ music. I spent many hours converting the MP3+g's I already converted, and all the disc I had to convert to KMA. I failed to state that I also have 40,000 regular DJ music. This music was MP3, and are also KMA format for the ease of searching. Unlike many here, I DJ, Host, or any combo of each.

I am Hosting MC'n a wedding reception next month that is in a private bowling alley in Hollywood, that will be MC, Karaoke, DJ, and bowling. Crazy I know, but sounds kinda cool.

Yes you can surely go for the direct transfer of libraries from external HDD to new one.It doesnt requires to concern any other. It will work smoothly without any trouble.
