ok I over did it yesterday and am paying for it...It is not a good idea for me to ever forget my age or disabilities...came back from a big day out with cue and was supposed to head out to dinner and karaoke with him in the evening, but my knees just wouldnt let me. Ended up lying on my bed fully clothed trying to manage the pain and woke up still fully clothed at 5am this morning.
Today I go to meet with a dear friend who is on a heart transplant list. Will visit with him a while and then meet up with Andygurl and stevenjohn

I was wondering how your knees were holding up. I have knee and now hip problems also, so I know how they can decide to pick the most inopportune times to act up. You might want to take an anti inflammatory at night before bed to help them heel.
You better rest those knees before Friday.

If your not taking anything, you can try the over the counter Aleve(or the generic) which is 1 pill every 12 hours. Many doctors will tell you that you can double that(2 pills every 12 hours) which is what I do some times. Don't take aspirin, Ibuprofin or any other NSAID with it. Definetly do not take it if you are on a blood thinner, and check to make sure it's ok to take with any prescription or over the counter medicine you might be taken. Some light weight knee braces also help.......

Vikki, I hope you're feeling better. I felt so bad when we finished our day together. I had no idea that you'd end up in such pain (with all the walking we did). At least you got a small taste of "The Big Apple." You even got me to see sights in my own city that I've never seen before (such as our walk through Battery Park and our trip to the Observation Deck of the Empire State Building).... and Monday was just a PERFECT day (as far as the weather was concerned).

howdy Cue, thank you so much for your concern I did come good after a night sleep. After talkng to you I lay down on my bed to rest and woke up fully clothed at 5am next day. So I went for an early morning walk in central park before breakfast.
I managed to find my way to bayshore to visit with my friend Tom and then back to NY to pick up.
my bag before heading on a train upstate NJ 1hour 20mins to andygurl and steven john...A lot of travelling in a day but being off my feet actually helped.
Today I had another day of travel, bout 6 hours by the time I travelled from andy and stevens to newark and then onto Baltimore
I cant thank you enough for taking time out to pick me up from the airport and then show me round the next day...Your generosity was humbling and I am very grateful

No, just a dark blue HHR Panel Truck. Don't know what time. That depends on when I get the urge to drive. @ Babs, what's the name of the city your show is in? I forgot. I know where it is but I want to google map the directions.

Like I said, don't take aleve with Ibuprofen, apirin, or any other NSAID.
Do not take Vicodin, with Tylenol(or the generic).......not good to drink alchol with Vicodin either.....but I do a bit..... my wife and I are Vicodin addicts
ps.....Ibuprofen takes too long to work, Aleve seems to work quickly, especially for the knees

Be careful taking too much of ANY NSAID. You might end up in the hospital like me not even realizing that you had bleeding ulcers until they have to shove 4 pints of blood into you in less a few hours to get you back to close to full.
NSAID - Asprin (Bayer), Ibuprofin (Motrin), Naproxen (sp?) (I think Aleve but look to make sure which ones)
In case you want to know, yes I am fine now but now am not even not allowed to even take a baby asprin. I have to be VERY careful of what I even take for a cold. Also on drugs now for the rest of my life from it.

Fantastic, fabulous, wonderful, and amazing night! I recognized Vicki immediately. I was so excited I think I almost knocked her over with my hug. What a great group of forum people we had. Of course everyone has incredible voices. Bill hits notes only dogs can hear. Johnny has the sexy crooner voice. Gregg nails the rock & roll songs and plays a mean air guitar with a Jean Simmons tongue you'd have to see to believe. Cathi brings the house down with her powerful but beautiful voice. And Vicki, is Hot Hot Hot with her alto voice keeping us all dancing.
I felt like my long time best friends were in the house. The most heart warming reunion ever. I can't express how thankful I am that they came to visit.

Oh wow! I had some serious fun last night. Meeting Vicki, Johhnyreverb and his wife, Rush, Cat'seyeview, Nick, and of course Babs, was really great. I dusted off the old Air Guitar and had a blast. Hadn't used that since about five years ago.
Babs...wonderful show. You run a great one and you have some smokin' moves...work it girl!
Vicki...thanks for making the midwest one of your stops. Truly a pleasure meeting you. The Kiwi has found a home on my desk lamp and our dog is afraid of the pen. I hope your knee and all get better soon. Go Allblacks!!!!
Johnnyreverb and wife...Great meeting you as well. I can put a face to your posts. I guess now you will have to update the avatar pic. I'm crappy with names, sorry I forget your wife's name.
catseyeview (Cathy) Awesome voice!! What can I say? Hope to see you again.
Nick & Rush...nice meeting you guys as well.
Glad to be a part of the Raving Redhead World Tour, Chicago Edition. As an aside, I watch hockey at home, but you just don't know how much more exciting it is watching in a bar full of Blackhawk fans...awesome.

I'm not a good typer, so I'll be brief, though I have nothing but tons of good things to say about our Karaoke Scene people. First let me say Babs is a bad speller and she really meant pesky crower voice(old crower at that), when yappin' about me.... Already knowing that my comrades have awesome voices, it was only my suspission of their warm, caring, and friendly nature, that I had to confirm. ........It was confirmed .... .......we had a blast......

The drive from Omaha was definitely worth it. Being able to see and hear everyone in person was one of the top things that has ever happened in my life. Cathi and Vicki have been good friends online for a long time, and are like family to me. Singing that duet with Cathi will be something I remember forever. It sounded 10 times better live than on our recording. I thought I was going to faint after it was done.
Getting to meet Nick, Johnny and Gregg was great as well. I'd always enjoyed Johnny's antics online, and getting to hear him croon (yes dude, you crooned extremely well!). I'd never seen anyone play air guitar with a real guitar before Gregg, so that was a treat (YES, I saw the tongue....WOAH!~!) I wish Nick had been able to sing as well....
Babs...what can I say...you run a great show and your going out of the way to accommodate us who came so far to be together. Your beautiful smile and energy were infectious. We felt so very much at home. I rate you at the top of the list of KJ's I have seen. You are much like I was when I KJ'd....it's about the singers.... BTW, some of those notes the dogs could only hear, they'd probably wish they couldn't..... !~!
Cathi (my Cuz'), and Vicki (my second Kuz'....the "K" is for "Kiwi cuz").......I will NEVER forget meeting and spending time with you two. I will ALWAYS treasure it. Hearing both of you sing live was amazing. Kelly was flabbergasted on how good you were. I'm sorry the drive into Chicago didn't work out as planned Saturday morning, but I knew we had a long drive home...so we headed out without getting to say final goodbyes.
All in all, Kelly and I had a wonderful time. I was glad I was able to bring my best friend with me to share in it all. Once again, I'm very glad we made the trip.
