Okay, sorry for piling on. I just don't get it is all.
Would these be the same pretentious little bags that play for MONEY? Then possibly there would be a reason for bringing your own cue... Unless there was some rule that prevented them from doing that.... like getting SUED by the cue maker...
They don't play with the "people who can't get a ball in the pocket on 5 tries."

I agree.
Well said that man.
Except...
When they mention their choices you do interfere.
But hey... I agree with you.
I think you are fantastic.

They don't play for money. It is a neighborhood dive and the do play with people of all levels. They may even let them try out their cue stick. They play for fun and companionship and because it one of the few places they can go for miles. There is no rule against playing a singer's legally purchased karaoke disc. Did someone get up on the wrong side of the bed this year?

I have no knowledge of how SC conducts its investigations. As far as I know they have never publicly stated how they do it (though there are a lot of assumptions). If they mishandle their investigation then the judge will throw it out (just as they throw out cases law enforcement have mishandled). Yes, unfortunately the Defendant is out money in a civil case, but so is the Defendant in a Criminal case.
Just because the technology is there, it doesn't make it right. I think every modern automobile out there can travel in excess of the top speed limit, but that doesn't mean you have the right to exceed it. And if you get caught, you suffer the consequences.

Not always the case here in the U.S. regarding criminal cases because a defendant who cannot afford an attorney will be appointed a public defender (free representation). A defendant in a civil case is entirely on their own and must obtain their own counsel and that can be anywhere from $100 to $250/hr.

Provided you are qualified for legal aid. Given a choice would you use a legal aid lawyer or your own?

There is NO prequalification in the U.S. for criminal cases. If you can't afford a lawyer (i.e. no lawyer at all) one will be provided to you -at no charge since in the U.S. you have a right to an attorney. This is NOT "legal aid" it is simply part of the due process of law.
In a CIVIL suit, it's a whole different ballgame.... you're on your own.

Maybe pay for the right was a bad choice of words, but if I'm spending money, there's karaoke, and I've done nothing wrong, only a man that thinks he's a god can deny me my turn.....rights are only taken away, by breaking rules, and by gods.
Now I said I sing many songs, but I didn't say I sounded good..... kinda quantity over quality......but you tend to read between the lines, and just call the actual words a rant. You're just contrary, if we weren't talking about karaoke, you'd argue from the a$$ end of something else...... .....you don't bother me a bit, and it's just fun to pull the chain of a person like you.....besides rants are long, and I keep it short......unlike some of your big ol' wind bag rants I've seen...lmao
ps....please keep your reply to the point where they won't lock this post.....I'm really enjoying talking to your ego......maybe even try laying down on a couch as you type.......

You can agree with him, but I still like ya Jar(seriously).......but you wouldn't have turned it into such a rant like he did.......cheers my friend........

While I have my favorite brands, not every brand gets it right so I like different versions of songs from various brands, depending on who is spot on. While I agree that Sound Choice has some of the best sounding songs on the market, I wouldn't choose their version of Faithfully if I were doing a contest due to lyric imperfections.
That said if it wasn't a contest I would be content with the Sound Choice version if that is all They have. As a karaoke host, I would rather play from my system than play from outside because I don't want to create a dummy song so they get in my rotation,, which I stick by religiously so to run it as fair as I can. I no longer use Compuhost as their specs have left me behind in the dust and I don't want to have to reinvest in a more modern laptop at this time.

Some people have no choice. They get the public defender.
And I don't know how it works in your province, but here the public defender is on a rotating schedule. The regular lawyers ALL take turns at it, so you're just as likely to get a fantastic lawyer as you are a "crappy" one. Oh, and most legal aid for criminal cases gets approved. Only a very few are refused, for whatever reason. It's things like divorce and custody that doesn't get approved on regular basis.

And lawyer's who do legal aid work are only given so many hours to prep a case. Anything past that is either not done or Pro Bono. Don't make it sound like you're going to get a Johnny Cochrane because I wouldn't gamble on it. Plus don't expect too much to get access to professional outside services to help with your case. The money is just not there.

For Criminal cases. Not a civil case . SC's cases are civil.

Stanley sounds a lot like my ol' pal exweedfarmer.......
By far the hugest part of our "active" community participate in Singers Showcase, and they would be insulted by this person's posts. Fortunately for him, the vast majority of them don't come to the forums, or they would be posting in droves to disagree with him. I tried to represent their voices, as well as my own opinion.
My work is done here, and removing my harmless(totally G rated) post in the newbie section is a serious form of bias censorship......my posting days, are over, and from now on, maybe I'll come for an occasional lurk. Take care, and be safe to the many on here that I wouldn't hesitate to call my friend..........johnny
ps....I've emailed SC and CB to see if their postings on here are the real deal, but it's been a while and I've gotten no replies, so I'd suggest some further investigation before believing they state the respective companies policies and views.

While Johnny was able to speak for other forum members,
You can not. He was respected.
But wow...
Your sarcasm is flawless.
What a guy.
