I also use the Profx12, got it last year, they do sell out pretty fast, I would suggest that if you want one, order it in advance. I think it's a great sounding mixer, or it COULD be the advice that you (Karen) ,along with others, gave me on mixing. I get nothing but compliments.

Well darn it! I must have been sleeping at the switch here. Maybe I'll check again, maybe lay down my dough and that will inspire them. They keep moving the date. Looks like a great board and I'm in need very soon.

Does anyone know if the mounting brackets from the X1204usb will fit the Mackie ProFX12? Thanks.

No idea? I just took off the plastics sides and I made me up 4 L-brackets that screw to the unit and then the unit hangs (and screws into) the top rails mounted in the hole on top of my little DJ box (2U front, which holds my CD-G player and my compressor). This Mackie unit drops all the way flush into the box with some room to spare, and the top still fits snug for traveling.

Pretty simple.

I've had/used numerous Mackie and Behringer boards, and would always suggest the Mackie. Behringers work OK - when they work.

You know, Behringer seems to always get a bad rap but I've been using Behringer products for years and have never had a problem. I have the XENYX 1222FX which has worked flawlessly. It stood up to sweltering heat and frigid cold temperatures, has been transported all over the place and continues to be the work horse that it is.

I've also used a Behringer Europower EP1500 to power a pair of Yamaha S115V speakers and the combination was just awesome. It was such a nice clean sound. And this amp was no slouch either, plenty powerful.

I've since replaced the 1500 with a QSC GX5 power amp. Not because I didn't love the Behringer but it was so HEAVY! I'm trying to eliminate as much weight as possible because my back is not as strong as it once was. Anyway, the QSC amp is great but in my opinion, the Behringer amp had a much warmer and richer sound.

I'm seriously thinking about buying a pair of their B215XL speakers. I've heard good things about them and they're around 30lbs. lighter then the Yamaha's.

So for me, I love Behringer stuff.

Sorry, I've had some bad experience with this brand and I promised myself I would never buy any of their products! So my answer is the Mackie ProFX8

I would agree if given the choice. I have owned several Behringer products in the past and while yes they may work & sound ok (to your ears), if you actually had them side by side with a quality product like the Mackie VLZ or Onyx or even Allen & Heath mixers, even an untrained ear should be able to hear a difference in the sound. I wouldn't push a Behringer product if they paid me to do so.

I also had a bad experience with a Behringer board. Thought there was seriously something wrong with my speakers or connections. I ran it with a pair of SM350s and it was horrible. Pulled a Mackie board out of another rack and problem was gone. Sold the Behringer.
