OK so I de-duped my music and have since decided to add the dups back in. I am gonna print the new song books with the code to the manufacturer of the song. as in ChartBuster= ID CB and so forth.
I have some songs that start off with blue stars cascading across the screen and the only info I am finding is EMI on some others have sony and still others have other stuff.
So my question is who's songs are they?
I could go back thru all my disks but I figured someone on here would know.
Thanks

What facts are you basing that statement on?

The manu is Allstar Karaoke. These are sold at Walmart. When it first starts up, there are 4 or 5 blue stars. In your data base, look for ASK-.

All-star Karaoke clearly appears targeted to the public and not the KJ market.

I seriously doubt they are pirated, as wal-mart has a mountain of legal experts to check up on thier products and the volume of sales can allow them to make prices very cheap.

If the songs were pirated walmart clearly has deap enough pockets (and enough ill-will among the people who might serve on a jurry) to make lawsuits by the owners of the tracks very profitable. The potential of several million dollar settlements make Wall-mart very cautious. I know that the local store can't even turn off the sprinklers in the parking lot without approval of the office in Arkansas 500 miles away, so every purchasing decision for product lines is highly researched by the central office.

Wall-mart is certainly low budget and sometimes borderline unethical with their products but they cant afford to be illegal.

The tracks may be versions from other manus released as a discount line. For example American Idol and Performers choice are discount lines of Sound Choice.

Whoever they market All Stars too, I like them. I don't much like the color scheme, but they sound just fine and best of all they use count in bars ala Sound Choice!! The only bad thing is it they are slow to cover the newer stuff.

You're right, All Star was Top Tunes attempt to survive... that's why you'll find most of their tracks on old Top Tunes disk  And BTW, the quality was good enough for pro KJ use, not just for home

1) I own them

2) The cases said EMI

3) They aren't - I checked. Also no mfr. code around center hole.

Could be, but I have 2 of those, and the discs are clearly labeled... However, I wouldn't call two discs a major sampling... :)

Good old Wall Of Sound, AKA InsaneKJ. I've called him out in regards to his SC opinions on another forum, and his new hobby is doing what he does- telling everybody they are wrong, and supplying no pertinent information to back it up- with me. It's what got him booted as InsaneKJ from this forum in the first place.

The case? What does that have to do with anything?

I am not aware of any karaoke manufacturer EMI. I am aware of EMI, the British record label (The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and many, many others).

Checked what? You can't have checked. EMI doesn't exist -- there is nothing to check against.

EMI is a record label and they do make karaoke of their artists, but for Asian market. I am fairly sure I have a few of their karaoke VCDs. I don't know if they make CDG.

I've seen EMI karaoke discs before, but for the life of me I can't remember where!
So yes, they DO exist! Or did, anyway.

Is there ANY subject that may be posted that WON'T turn into a PIRATE thread??? Aren't ANY OF YOU getting sick of the subject??? I don't mind getting educated on a subject, but I'm not going for a Masters, or Phd. on the subject of KARAOKE PIRATING. Don't ANY of you want to have this forum go back to a place where we can socialize, and talk about the POSITIVE aspects of our shows, or the INTERESTING things that happen at our shows. Or give pointers to each other?? If you want to have a PIRATE thread, MORE POWER TO YOU, but please don't interject PIRACY into EVERY thread that someone posts. START YOUR OWN THREAD, and title it ANOTHER PIRATE THREAD, so the rest of us know not to go there. I personally am at the point of :puke: whenever the subject comes up. I am really disappointed that SOOO much talent is being reduced to an ONGOING debate that NOBODY will solve on this FORUM. My two cents, :vomit: Thanks for listening. I know.... now SOMEONE can come on here and tell me not to read the posts, and how important those threads are, so... go ahead, have at it.
