Hi all. I know there has some discussions in the past about Driverack PA in the past. I am looking to pick one up. They are on ebay for about $250 range. I also noticed that some decent deals on PA+ for about $150 more. Does anyone know what the main differences are between the two and if it's worth the more money? Thanks in advance.

I think the main difference is the PA+ has a couple more parameters & a USB connection for software/firmware updates - possibly for future upgrades/additions I could imagine - but do not quote me? Although the original PA was just fine, it may be worth the extra if you could swing it.

The PA+ also does not produce the "pop" sound when you power it off, which is nice if a circuit breaker trips or some idiot shuts off the amp rack by pulling the plug instead of powering down the amplifiers first. Would I pay an extra $150 for that feature? No, not really.

It also has a lot more pre-configured speaker settings from more different mf's. (Like EV, the main reason I got it). I think on the PA+ these are also updateable where the old one is not.

To me the most useful difference between the DRPA and the DRPA Plus is that the Plus version uses a fulltime RTA where the original version could only be used in conjunction with the setup procedure. That being said, I still use the original version so I guess I don't see it being that important.

Considering that "pop" sound could potentially kill a speaker or two, maybe the extra $150 could be worthwhile as a little added insurance for those times when idiots and/or tripping breakers are in close proximity! ;)

If that pop damages your speakers, your gain structure is so far out of whack that you did it to yourself. Seriously.
