I want to go all digital. What is the best software to rip my CD+Gs?

Power Karaoke is very much recommended. I personally use CDGRIP. There are MANY to choose from, I would suggest trying the demo, and seeing which you like best.

I used audiograbber (free) but have had better results with powercdgburner ($40)

I think it's really a trial and error of which works best with your drive. Try problem CDGs and see how good / bad the graphics come out.

Also investing in a CDG cleaner, I have to motorized CD/DVD Dr which did wonders for some discs when comparing a before and after rip.

I don't think it is as good as MTU Microstudio or Powerkaraoke as far as the drives it will work with or clean graphics - which both are very good.

It's fast ripping, encode using Lame, perfect graphic and I mean not a single broken letter at full speed using my LiteOn, different output name format and more...

only issue is that you have to pay for every update of the database that you get.
Both PowerKaraoke & CDGrip use cddb to name files. CDGrip also works with Fast Tracks where you can get the database updates for free lifetime for the cost of Fast Tracks and the onetime update fee.
I am not sure how Microstudio names their files.
By the way I was able to get a clean rip of a mediacloq disc with PowerKaraoke.

I have been using power CDG burner for a while. I have had no problems with it, it works fine on my older computer, but for some reason it only rips the first 14 of 15 songs on my newer (windows 7) computer and stalls out with about 30 seconds to competion on the 15th song.

That was a problem on some of the older drives at one time, when it gets to the stall point try ejecting the disc at that point - oddly enough it worked in the past, don't know if it will be the fix for you but give it a shot. Then test the song from start to finish (obviously).

in my opinion, if you are going to invest in the time it takes to rip your discs, you might as well do it at 320 and be done with it. Drive space is dirt cheap nowadays. I have found Terabyte external drives for $110 canadian.

This is more than adequate for any large karaoke collection.

As for ripping software up until a year ago, I used cdg rip from fastracks without any problems whatsoever. It was free and it used the database I already had from the book software which I had purchased.

However, when my Plextor drive that was CDG certified died, it would not give a clean rip with the drive that was in my computer.

I followed a fellow Kjs advice and got powercdg and have gotten perfect results 90% of the time.. The other 10% seem to be related to Vista & windows seven having copy protection built in when you are copying a cd with any software.

What naming convention do most of you use? Artist, song? Other?

I use standard format.
DiscID - Artist - Title.
For example SC8125-01- Eagles - Peaceful Easy Feeling.
Note that the track number is included with the Disc ID, even though there's a dash in it, so DiscID is SC8125-01.

Rip at the best possible - 320 for mp3, or wav if your software can play those back. Hard drives are cheap - no need to try to rip at a small bit rate to try to conserve space, a 1TB hard drive can be purchased for under $100 these days, 2 TB for about twice that.
Once upon a time in the days of expensive hard drives (remember when 20gb drives ran for more than $500) are over.
