Found a CraigsList listing for 70+ CDG's (SC, CB, THM, Legends Series, and some misc) for $75!! Lot's of rock and 80's ballads. So of course I made a 2 hour drive to pick them up.

There were no jewel cases or inserts so some of them I don't have artist info for. Mainly the Legends Series & the THM. I've slowly been googling and finding some of the info on the LS, and haven't started the THM yet. Is there an easier way to do this?

Many of the cd rippers have a function that checks an online database of what songs are on it for song titles. (I know power karaoke works for this).

Unfortunately the database is not 100% complete and about 10% of the SC disks are missing from the DB.

Outside of this you have to buy music book deluxe or kj pro music book.

On their online search these two databases scramble the song orders. For many websites selling disks they use these databases as well and the song orders may be shuffled (within the cd), the tracks are (usually) correct, but the order is changed.

Thanks Dr. Fred I just recently purchased PowerKaroke's CD+G Burner to convert downloads from Tricerasoft to CDG's. I'll try using that and see what I come up with. Probably be a good idea to make a digital backup of my CDG's anyway.

Get fast Tracks and cdgrip as they work together and should have most discs that you picked up. www.karaokeware.com

I've found audiograbber, which is free, makes better use of the database than Power CDG ripper. Hope this helps you!

yes but Po9werKaraoke works with more drives and has the ability to give cleaner rips. As does CDGrip.

True, but he's not looking to rip. He's just looking for a database so he knows what's on each disc...

Thanks diafel, but I had already purchased PowerKaraoke and it worked great except for THM disc, but I found the info for it online.

I'm not sure I understand. are these original discs? If so, why don't you just look up the discs number from an online database like kjpro, or if you get fastracks you could look it up that way.

www.kjpro.com/browse

-James

edit:doh! i didn't read carefully enough your looking for the ARTIST info.. That makes more sense.. use the database above.

Free song search in the left column is pretty complete.
