strictly targeting the pirates? You would think so based on seeing this on Sound Choice's website. I think it's pretty insulting, what do you think? (Clicking the picture makes it larger)

Their stated target customer is the pirate and the KJ's looking to either build their systems or add a system to take over a pirate show that is too stupid to settle and would rather close up shop than become legal.

As stated, if a pirate actually pays and can prove their purchase, ok - SC is in the business to make money, the pirates have not been putting into the pockets of any of the manus they blatently rip off. Like someone stated in another thread, I doubt if any pirate would actually spend the money themselves to be legal, it's going to take an actual lawsuit to either to force them spend almost twice as much (ok not quite) than to have them spend $4000 + to do it on their own for each system. This is more for those who didn't know the drives they were sold were illegal or for those wanting to upgrade a crappy selection or to those starting out or getting a new system off the ground.
I will be the first in line when I get my 2nd system ready to go!

Yeah that's the ticket. I've been toying with the idea of taking up offers on a second show on Friday nights. My biggest excuse was no one qualified to run it and that took off the pressure. Now I have a suitable stand in for me when I need one and he'd like a regular show. I've resisted because of music costs but with SC and CB offering so much in digital format now I might just bite the bullet and setup a rig.

Me too - would like a second rig but the cost of the music is keeping me from doing it. Now just have to win the lotto.

For those of you who are interested in setting up a second system, if you can find a solid lead for the venue, sound choice will be offering financing with payments around $300/month. A gig that pays $150 for the night would still allow a person to pay for there set *which are the figures that Soundchoice is basing it on*

Lonman:can I get in on that offer too!? :P

I think the ad is creatively hilarious. However I do object to it being directed to "Professional Karaoke Hosts" and then showing a pirate. REAL professional karaoke hosts aren't pirates and don't want to be grouped with them. Otherwise, it is pretty darn funny.

Temped to finance thru SC, tempted to finance thru my own CC. Oh I bought a 42" LCD from costco last year for $900. 1 year later I can find it as low as $450. Makes the SC set look pretty good at holding its value!
