I'm still confused.

I followed your other link Jerry and all I can figure is that when Weed got his head bit off in the initial response he had his feelings hurt? Understandable, because the response was pretty darn uncivil, but if that's the only thing keeping him away I hope he'll realize that was just one person who went off on him like that, not the whole board.

As for the lights, I'm still clueless about the connection.

Weedy helped me out with a little program to allow me to record and sync my lights to future music playback.
I want to help him now.
I am hoping he reads this thread and realise it is ok for him to come back.
He is a bit shy.
Thanks guys.

We don't have nearly as many lights but we have lights because we do a sort of "Dance Karaoke" type thing. We don't play dance songs but people sing dance songs and then we fire up the lights and fill the floor. It gives the non-singers something to do and adds a bit of interest and excitement. It is sort of like singing rock show karaoke at a rock show. The singers take it as a compliment if they can get people to dance rather than worrying about it being a distraction from themselves. We have a few who even thank the dancers afterwards. The bartendress likes it because it makes people thirsty. We've had a few complaints of dizziness and nausea, however.

Ha Ha, Know what you mean.
I think I have caused one or two drunks to fall over.

By the way it does say by the video

It is Karaoke night.
This is the disco lighting.

Jerry, you know one idea I have for a really cool way to use those lights is at the start of your show. Those lights coupled with an audio intro (maybe music with a voice over) and then a grand entrance into the first song sung by you. I've always thought about opening a show that way just to generate some extra excitement.

Gee Jerry, thanks for the thread.

You're right. I got a little ticked because I got flamed for saying that K.D. Lang had great mic technique. No, I wasn't kidding. I was sharpening my barbs for a reply on that thread but then I got to wondering "Why would I get flamed for that?" I think it was because without meaning to I was calling those whose main contribution to their karaoke shows is audio mixing "Stupid" which was not my meaning or intention. I do sincerely apologize to those I may have offended.

Also as I was barb-sharpening, it also occurred to me that I had done this all before. What would be the point of another flaming match? I'm not actively in the karaoke business anymore and I'm not working on any karaoke software. It was just time to sit down and be quiet until I actually had something of potential merit to say.

But, thanks for noticing.

And WAY KOOL light show!

I saw nothing wrong with legwarmer, hell I'm consumerist, oops, that acceptable? Well, I say bring him back, even though I knew it was gone. Perhaps it is memory.

Right wrong or indifferent, TTowntenor is a jackass for talking like that. All other things aside, no reason for someone who thinks they are the expert to treat someone that they deem as a non expert in that manner.

That's my take.
