Bars I use the TV's there I have all my bars hard wired with S-Video or HDMI depending on the TV's.

For Private events we use 21" LCD or the customer my upgrade to a 52" LCD or 2 on truss or we have 10' and 20' projection screens available.

I found that I couldn't count on the venue to have a big screen tv for me to hook in for the audience so I have the old fashioned monitor stand and I put 2 19" back to back on it when I can't hook into their system. It gives those facing the sing an easy way to see the words (especially from the dance floor) and to see if they are close to being up to sing soon. My stand breaks down and goes in my stand bag with my pa stands and mic stand. Except for the top, it's not heavy but awkward, I carry it by itself with no bag or anything to my trailer. I keep a lazyboy in the front of my trailer, gotta keep it comfortable.

Someday wireless transmitters would be good!

I am using a little "Go Video" flat screen 13" "Computer Monitor Television combo " i got off of qvc cheap. It's both a computer monitor and TV. Has all the inputs s-video, composite, cable, vga computer and even the old television flat wire screw hook ups. Tag says manufactured on Sept 17, 2002. Thing has great color, and works better then the newer cheap ones. Anyway, it doesn't have the 4 hole plate set up in back. Just two holes to hang it on the wall, and a short pull out stand for sitting it on a table top. Any suggestions on how to put it on a stand? I'm using my old karaoke stand. really bulky. All suggestions appreciated.

I have the exact same stand. May I ask which casters you got to replace them? I do notice that the caster is a bit weak and was thinking about replacing them. Also, one thing I always forget is that the pin needs to be removed before you pull the monitor part out. I have pulled on it a few times and the ring that holds the pin to the body is all stretched out. Had to use a plier to fix it a few times. Also, I wish there was a good solid mic holder to attach to the unit. That would solve all my problems.

Well you cant go to home depot or the local hardware store to find them...I tried. They are an odd metric thread called "M8". I got mine from a guy on eBay, but someone else mentioned you can get them at Ikea. I bought three extra and have never needed them. I also went up a few sizes from the tiny stock wheels.



I took the pin off. I leave the stand as far down as it will go and have the tilt on the mount pointed up to eye level. When I break down to packup, I only unscrew the knob on the very bottom and remove the whole thing from the base. I never even unscrew the telescoping part.

Why do you need the wheels at all? Looks like an accident waiting to happen with the stand raised up high enough to get a drunks toes under. Remove them and put small pads (if you like) on the bottom to keep from scratching a wood floor. From what I read most everyone seems to carry them in ...not roll them in.

I had one of the standard wheeled stands with a crt for the singers display. The wheels let it get knocked over and the CRT broke on the floor.

I took off the wheels and adapted a flatscreen to the stand, and now it is not only no longer top heavy it is a lot easier to transport around.

I found the complete opposite to be true. The wheels actually keep it from being knocked over. If you bump it, it rolls. That's not going to happen with a rubber footed stand.

I have yet to play a venue where people left it where I put it. It is always being moved about. Off to the side, closer to the singer, etc. Someone sang "Play That Funky Music" the other day and a BUNCH of people got up to dance so they pushed it completely off to the side.

I totally agree with you. It's the physics of the stand. If it's top heavy, as it is with the CRT monitors and some LCD monitor, the stationery object will tip over if it's struck. However, if you have wheels, the energy is transferred to the motion of the stand, rather to tipping over, so it's less likely tip over. I never had it tip over so far. However, I almost had my speaker stands tip over a few times. Maybe I need wheels on the speaker stands. Anyone know of any such beast?

I cover that goes over my monitor, and leave the monitor connected to stand and pull the plug and lift your feet away from the top of the screen is connected to tearing down. For more options, simply slide the top half rack and insert the pin.
