Funny, I get beer sneezes too. Not a connoisseur of beer by any means, but at times someone will offer a taste of something and I end up liking it, but certainly cannot ever remember the name when i want to order it. We have an ale house in our little town that probably has 60 or 70 types of beer, and dozens (or it seems like it) on tap. Very popular place.

Going back to the original post, weirdest thing for me was this woman KJ that works on Fridays. She is the worst KJ ever but the establishment can't fire her because she threatened sue them for sexual harassment by a manager that quit a long time ago. Because she threatened to sue, they figure it's cheaper to keep her than fire her.

Anyways, she showed up one day in a one of the cheap nurse's outfit, started to sing the first three songs, then get her boyfriend to sing one, then dance music for next 10 minutes. Mind you, this was NOT a Halloween night.

That's the last time I went to that show.

I don't have anything quite so exciting, lol... I guess I could tell about the time we had a packed bar and since I was usually the only one at the front (except for the passing waitresses) it fell to me to help keep the peace around the dance floor and nearby tables. That night, a bunch of big ol' biker dudes came in... and that's not a problem, we accepted everyone who was there to have fun. The problem came when two of them decided to get into over who-knows-what and I could see it getting ugly real fast. I hurried over to them and stood between them -- these guys were at least 6'4 or more... I'm 5'2, lol... so I craned my neck real hard to look up at them... pointed my finger in their faces and in my best "motherly" tone told them to sit down and play nice. I don't know if they were shocked, surprised or what, but they both immediately shut up and looked down at me... and went back to their seats. No problems the rest of the night :)

I kinda felt 10 feet tall, lol

I'm in Sydney Australia so could someone please give me the answer to a question someone posted earlier on in the thread?

Why is American beer like having sex in a canoe... ?????

And please FOSTERS is NOT Australian for beer. That's the worst beer we have! I reckon it must be Kiwi.

Love it. I tell people that around here all the time! Fosters is the "Old Milwaukee" of Australia and marketed mainly for export to Americans who think "Super Ultra Light" beers actually have flavor.

No self respecting Aussie would touch it!

The answer was at the bottom of the post.
American beer has a much lower percentage of alcohol than Canadian beer. Hence the answer :

It's F***ing close to water!

This is a persistent urban legend and simply not true.

The problem is that Canada rates alcoholic beverages by ABV (Alcohol by Volume) and the US uses ABW (Alcohol by Weight) so at first glance it may seem so, but they are two very different units of measure.

It would be like saying Canadian cars (KPH) go MUCH faster than American cars (MPH).

Then how do you explain the fact that Canadians can drink American beer all day long and barely feel it and Americans can drink only a few Canadian beers before they've been knocked flat?
It's well known that Canadian beer has a higher alcohol content than American beer, no matter how you measure it.
Before you tell me I'm imagining it, think again.
I've worked in the bar business in border towns for more years than I care to count, and I've seen it time and time again. Americans who don't realize the difference will slam a few back and ALWAYS mention it with a surprised "Holy crow! Am I ever feeling that!" or some such similar sentiment, usually laced with expletives. LOL

Ooooh! It's Stereotype time!

How do you explain that all Canadians have low IQ's and sit around drinking beer all day, eating back bacon and watching documentaries on Curling & Ice Fishing?

Yes. Damn those actual measurements on the can! Everyone KNOWS it's true!

ahahahahahaha you guys really know your beer...

I have never actually counted the ABV or ABW equivalent in Aus, I think its ABV. If it isn't working for me, I just pop another cold one.

I'd like to try me some arrogant bastard the next time I'm visiting my twin in NY.

Grand Ridge Supershine (The grandfather of Moonshine) from the Grand Ridge Brewery in Aus is the strongest mass production Aussie Beer 11% $200 for a case :(

Ack!

If you choose urban legend over your own governments alcohol labeling requirements, go for it.

People also try to discount the full moon theory too, but ask any bartender or emergency room nurse (I used to be in nursing before I injured my knee, so I know about this as well) who's been at it for any length of time, and they'll vouch for it as well. Again, whatever.

Oh, and you won't much of anything on my profile. I'm a pretty private person.

I come by it honestly. Having been stalked both in real life and on the internet, I've come to have a wee bit of it.
Having someone you've only ever seen online a forum such as this or a in chat room phone you out of the blue when you haven't given them your unlisted number or any information other than your first name and the town you live in will tend to do that to you.
