I am using a yamaha emx512 powered mixer and a yamaha P700s power amp. My question is would it be safe to connect mains and subs to to power amp.(evzx190's & EV SB122's), A monitor speaker to mixer (monitor speaker out) and a satelite speaker to mixer main speaker out? Club is about 2500 sq. feet and is L shaped. Satelite speaker is bar owned and mounted around corner from where I would set up. All speakers would be 8 ohms. Does anyone currently use the EV zx190s and the SB122's and if so what is your opinion on them ? I have the zx190's but haven't purchased the subs yet. I am currently using the yamaha S115V's that are breaking my already bad back.

As far as the mixer is concerned, you can have both the powered and pre-amp outputs running at the same time, that's not an issue. However, if you're going to connect both your subs a single amp, I would strongly recommend that you do the subs together on one channel and your full-range boxes on the other channel. This will allow you to use a cross-over sending the low output to one channel and the high output to the other. Otherwise you'll end up sending full-range signal to both your subs and your 2-ways which is definitely not what you want.

I own the an EMX512, a pair of Zx1s and a pair of Sb122 subs and I would suggest selling the EMX512 and getting a nice mixer that has built in vocal effects. I started with the EMX512 and two things I didn't like about it are amp hiss and poor vocal effects.

Your Yamaha P7000 is plenty powerful enough to run a Zx1 and a Sb122 sub on each channel. I am doing that with a less powerful amp that puts out 500wpc@4ohms with zero problems. The P7000 puts out a whopping 950wpc at 4ohms which is almost twice what my amp pushes.

I have an Alesis Multimix 8 mixer and it has much better vocal effects than the EMX512. You can get one new for about $150 or around $100 used on ebay or craig's list. For about $100 you can get a very nice Behringer 1202FX mixer brand new on ebay.

For around $399 you can get a Soundcraft FX8 mixer with Lexicon vocal effects. Lexicon vocal effects are about the best out there. Used EMX512s sell for $350 to $400.

Love it. I also have two other sets of EV speakers-EV Sx100+ and a set of EV Sx300 and they kick booty. Since I do smaller venues the Zx1/Sb122 combo is what I use 90% of the time. The other speakers are overkill for 30-50 people. The Yamaha P7000 is a great amp, you'll still have it when you retire. Get a good mixer to go with it and you're all set.

The Zx1/Sb122 combo with the Yamaha P7000 will get you up to around 200 people or so depending on the acoustics of the room you're in. You'll have the clearest, cleanest sound around and I guarantee you will get lots of compliments. You really can't go wrong with Electro Voice gear. There is not much better. It's not cheap but it's very good and if properly operated you will get decades of use from it.

I just re read your original post and you want a monitor and a remote speaker too. You're getting more complicated with that setup and the best way is to use a snake and a mixer that has separate controls for mains and monitors.

You could use the EMX512 for just the monitor and remote speakers, but I would throw a $100 mixer in the setup to control the 2 main speakers and the two subs.

Send a signal from your CD player or laptop etc. -whatever the source is-to both the small mixer controlling the mains and to the EMX512 controlling the monitor(s) and the remote speaker(s). This is going to be complicated and hectic to watch and adjust. Better to have everything on one mixing board controlling everything and a second amp instead of the EMX512.

What you're trying to do is best done with two regular power amps and one mixer and a small snake. I would just run the two tops and two small subs and position them in a way that you don't need a monitor. I hope you're getting paid a lot of money for this . . .
