because you get "eight" twice.
Now I thought it was why is a 77 better than a 69? Because you get "eight more"!
Ohh Ohh..
Know what a 6.9 is?
A 69 divided by a period!

You're not too old Jerry. You've just grown up a little more than some others. When I go to a karaoke show, my hope is that some people will enjoy my singing. I don't go there with the intention of seeing if I can shock the crowd with my juvenile vocabulary. If I want to hear vulgarity, I'll go to a comedy club or pop in a Richard Pryor DVD. Some folks just seem to get off on being vulgar in mixed company, regardless of who is present. They'd probably behave the same way even if there were priests and Nuns at the restaurant. After all...What's better than offending the clergy????

No priests at any of my shows.. since we don't have any little boys in the crowd.

Well, as for the Adult themed songs, I am guilty of singing several. I don't do it every night, but once in a while it's fun. I do feel out the crowd before I sing some of those songs.

I think the more interesting question is who has been kinking the catheters of the bed pan brigade manager (AKA psuedo-bar manager?

While no instrument will be plugged in at a karaoke show, I have allowed the occasional harmonica, jaw harp, and even a dirty sax. I try to discourage it because I don't see it as karaoke.
My harmonica comes out about every other show. Only if the rotation is tiny.

Microphones are my favorite subject. I suppose because by their very nature, they are so subjective to the user. The SM58 is a great microphone no denying that. I own two. Back in their early days, there simply wasn't the choice there is now, or the technology. But with todays innovations, and research, new materials, neodymium magnets, there are other choices which i personally prefer. The SM58 has stood the test of time, made tough, and is a good performer, despite being produced now in mexico, and china.
However, the behringer XM8500 in my humble opinion is just as tough, roadworthy, and sounds every bit as good as any sm58 i've ever heard. I have no reason to doubt those who say, the XM5800 sounds as good as the SM58, i tend to agree. I run 5 xm5800's in my karaoke rig. I will dare say, i can put any of you in my studio, with a set of phones on, and you couldn't tell me which is the sm58 in a side by side test..i know.....because most i tested so far could'nt tell the difference either!
My most disliked microphone for vocals..the Audix OM2
My favorite microphone for vocals Samson Q7 & Blue Encore
Just some photo's of my many dynamic microphones

Sounds great -- until you handle it. At that point you have to admit that it has a much greater amount of handling noise. If you are going to leave the mic in the stand, the XM8500 will sound as good.
And I have come to believe that handling noise is inversely proportional to ruggedness when it comes to microphones. The SM58 is going to be more durable according to that principle, and indeed to all reports from the field.
