Well I want to apologize to all that I offended with my Stewie Avatar... I was so excited to find out that I had posted enough to finally earn my Avatar I didn't realize that I had not yet post enough times to earn the right to play in the gray humor area as I have seen others doing. I really didn't think that Stewie dancing like Michael Jackson did on TV so many times in the past would offend everyone.

Don"t get me wrong. It didn't actually offend me. However, my young daughter often can see the screen. THAT is what I was worried about. Nothing more.

Michael Jackson grabbing at his crotch was usually a very small part of his choreography. Your avatar was doing ONLY that continually. There's a time and place for everything. Not everyone that will come to this site is an adult. It's a little like an adult using bad language at a Chucky Cheese.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with your previous avatar ..unless the SITE ADMIN asked you to remove it.
I can’t believe people were so sensitive
Now what ..your new avatar is promoting violence ? Abuse ?

Are you people serious? An animated .GIF of Stewie from Family Guy grabbing his crotch offended someone?

What is this, the Quaker Karaoke site?

We're talking about something shown on broadcast TV in the United States, and a cartoon character, at that.

A cartoon character replicating what is arguably one of Michael Jacksons most iconic moves.

Oh no! My young child might see it.. and then what? Become an axe murderer? Spiral into a life of drugs and prostitution?

Wow.

Don't you think it may be good if the child grows up to know what is acceptable and what is not before just going out and imitating what they have just seen.

Teachers are having a tough time at the moment.

Hey...
What's this got to do with karaoke.

LOL....this is silly.

I side with theCheese.

I remember the Family Guy episode that the Stewie avatar in question comes from. This was broadcast on network TV. Don't come down on IGH70 unless you are the type of parent who monitors, shelters, and censors everything your kids do.

That Stewie Avatar was PG at worst, and that is exactly what every parent should be doing when their kids see questionable material on the TV, Internet, billboards, and everywhere - PARENTAL GUIDANCE!!!

I tend to agree. While distasteful to me personally, and something I am glad is down, it was not near being barred forcibly.

Kudos for igh70 for modifying it. I donated 500 points to him so he has the oomph necessary to change avatars or add other things he wants to.

First of all HE ASKED for opinions. I gave mine. Don't like it, go pound sand.

Sorry if you don't like my parenting style. Tough patooties. It's my right as a parent to raise my child as I see fit, not as you, or anyone else sees fit.
What I'm worried about is my child turning out like someone like you, who doesn't give a crap about other people and only cares about themselves. I don't want my child growing up self centered thinking that certain behavior is acceptable in public. Sorry if you don't like it. It's MY kid. Go raise one of your own if you think that's the way it should be.

Yes, I AM the type of parent that monitors and censors what my child sees and does. It's called being a responsible parent. Family Guy may be a cartoon, but it is NOT for children, and mine simply doesn't watch it. Neither do my kids watch The Simpsons, or any other ADULT oriented cartoon. They watch age appropriate shows WHEN they are permitted to watch.
Yes, I actually look after my kids.
I KNOW where my children are and what they are doing every day and every night. I KNOW they will not end up little criminals because I am THERE being a PARENT. Too many people pop out kids and then don't bother to raise them up to be proper responsible caring human beings that are assets to society. Too many do the opposite and then we have problem kids who turn into problem adults. Judge me if you want. I really don't care, but I will raise my children the way I see fit. You disagree, go raise your own little criminals.
/end rant

Well I can't see myself agreeing with diafel often.
I do now.

EDIT: diafel you forgot to mention "Being a good mother"
Which I am sure everyone here would accuse you of.
Don't think a bad mother should have that right.

Pssst... Jam.
Nice legs.

some people will do anything for a little attention. Some other people will try to one-up the other person. If they can, in the process, they can ruffle a few feathers, all the better for them. These are the same people who, as parents, will blame everyone but their children when their children get into trouble. Can you say Lindsay Lohan??? NO LIMITS leads to a mentality of no consequences for your behavior. It's Hollywood's fault that Lindsay Lohan and Drew Barrymore were doing drugs in their teens. Couldn't possibly be their parents fault in any way. When people behave poorly at a karaoke show in an effort to make others feel uneasy, it'a almost like having a bully in the crowd that wants everyone to know who the tough guy is. It's almost like they're hoping that someone will say something to them so they can get in a fight.

Sponge Bob Dancing is one thing. Stewie continually rubbing his crotch in a circular motion could certainly look like something other than dancing.

People like you always amuse me. You read that the majority of people thought it didn't belong here so you just had to do something similar in an effort to get under people's skin. I really do feel sorry for you. Some people just hate to fit in.

I could care less about your parenting style, or if you potty train your kids at gunpoint.. that's your business.

But you don't have the right to not ever be offended by something, nor do you have the right to force your draconian code of ethics on everyone else.

Don't like somebodies avatar? haha.. well 'tough patooties' to you, too.

There is no more need for argument, OP removed the avatar and replaced it with the current one. Personally I don't find it offensive; funny maybe. But is it appropriate for this forum? OP had already answered that.

I have every right to be offended or not, if I so choose. You don't live my life. I do!
As for "forcing my draconian code of ethics on everyone else", just WHEN have I done that?
Show me where!
Get a grip cheese. You've very obviously missed a very important part of the OP, if not the whole thing. You also missed my post where I said
Quote:
It didn't actually offend me.

Either that, or your reading comprehension needs some serious work.
He asked for our opinions on his avatar. I gave mine, as I was ASKED TO DO.
Nowhere am I "forcing" ANYTHING on anyone. So put those patooties in your pipe and smoke them!
