Yeah, I know what ya mean, I would prefer the non-switch version myself, but the price is right. All of my mics I have control over on/off at the panel.

Nothing a quick couple wraps of black tape won't fix!

Only thing I like a switch on is a wireless mic.

The only place I've ever liked having a switched mic is for talkback or control-room mics. Although, for the price I might have to contact this guy and see, like you said, some quick e-tape and it would be fine.
