Quote: Denise. Only one airplane. A bunch of cars. A couple of businesses. What a looser.
I also have a nice boat that I never use...does that count for anything? I just can't get to it until I trim the vegetation back a little. No, losers are people who have a bunch of bad crap happen to them and just never get over it. I'm more of a redneck, I think.

No mate. The boat counts for nothing.
The vegetation sounds cool though.

I only wish it were something that I could burn.

Thom has done DJing, KJing, been in a band, done a movie, did stage plays, did improve at festivals. I have done some of those things with him and watched from the sidelines at others.
We have a saying anytime someone asks the other out (even thou they know we are together) "We are a couple, if you want one of us you have to have both of us." It has stopped 99.9% of the people that don't care about who you are with. The others? Well, for some reason we never have the time, . But there again it all goes back to you having to be trusting of your partner and things like that.

I've had to actually get to the point where I don't allow anyone I date to know where I do karaoke shows. I know it's bad, but it keeps most of the drama away.
Maybe it's just me, but anytime anyone I have dated has become a "regular" at my shows, trouble happens (and it's NOT because I did anything even remotely wrong).
If I was married, of course it would be different.
I've actually lost a show because of an ex who created so much chaos that I was fired.
I really prefer to be the "guy who goes to work at a weird time, and then comes home".

My boyfriend hates to dance. I tell people that if you see him slow dance, he must have been drinking and if you see him fast dance, call a taxi. But the other night, an ex of his who was visiting our show talked him into a dance. People were surprised to see him out on the floor and said, "He hardly ever dances with you, aren't you offended?"
"Not if she tips," I said.

What a great thread!! I've dated a couple women that didn't like what I do. I've gotta say that the logic of your situation is screaming the answer, the emotion just makes it a tough choice. I've never been given a verbal ultimatum, but I've sure felt the pressure to leave the job. Karaoke and DJing is my income, I do nothing else and I've worked for years to get to the point I am at. Personally I'm not going to let anyone take that away from me. Recently my girlfriend and I have had a child and I am trying to shift my focus to more DJ gigs especially weddings so that I'm not out at all hours of the night. It's not going to happen overnight though. I agree with everyone else that says that she'll just get insecure about something else, AND how much are you going to resent her if you do quit? RUN!

There's on KJ on South Padre that if a good looking gal got up to sing and he handed her the mic he's in trouble.
My wife was alway with me when I sang and she never had a problem with women coming up and wanting their pictures take with me or flirting around. If you don't get along with the gals you don't get tips. One KJ lady friend told me that and she was right. She said the women determine the tips. When my friends wife was there he couldn't be himself and it showed in his tips.
