This has been bugging me for quite sometime and wondered if it bothers anyone else. Ever since THM went under and is now PHM by sing it now...

Their screen & font color, although tolerable...I DO NOT LIKE

The font size, NOT tolerable...I DO NOT LIKE

It is sooo much harder to read, with the size being the biggest issue.

It used to be red background with white/yellow words....size was good and easy to read

It then switched to a new font, but still ok in size with a dark blue/black background with white words....

It's now this teal color, font is way too small and white words..

The background isn't dark enough to offset the white words with the yellow sweep.

Where can we complain and get them to change back to what worked for so many years!!??!?!

As far as I know, THM and PHM were never the same company. There were companies putting out stuff for *years* under both names.

Now PHM did go from a larger outlined/shadowed font to a smaller unshadowed font in the past 3 years, and I agree it isn't very good. But I have a large number of their disks, and they were never red.

Pop Hits Monthly was produced by Stellar Records, Top Hits Monthly was produced by Panorama Records - they were two individual companies, never were the same. THM is actually out of business.

As far as complaining, i'd probably get their contact info from their website
www.pophitsmonthly.com

Yeah...Lonnie/Mkyj57

Thanks for turning the light bulb on.....

THM, is what I started with and liked....When the went byebye, I switched to PHM, which was still ok. Now with the latest change, I don't like it.

I still believe that they are the best available, but when you play them back to back, it especially becomes noticeable...the huge difference in font size.

I like the teal and white. I find it easier to read than some of the other manufactures out there.

The trick is to use a 52" screen or larger to display lyrics. I don't have an issue with the smallest of words.

liquid....

LOL! Maybe that is the fix? Only using a 13" crt, have to upgrade!

I can tolerate the color, but hate the font....

It seems that the new Pop Hits discs are all being made with all of the default settings on Karaoke Builder Studio. Arial 12 point, that ugly green background and the white letters with very little CAPITALIZATION.

Whenever I make a Karaoke file; I start out with a dark blue background and white letters that turn to a bright red. Can't beat the old RED WHITE AND BLUE...IN MY OPINION ANYWAY. I never did like the black background with dark blue letters that changed to a lighter color. Too tough on the eyes...at least for my eyes.

I also like to CAPITALIZE the first letter of every word just because I like the way it loooks on the screen. If I'm in a hurry, I sometimes skip this step as it takes a bit of time to do. There a box you can click to CAPITALIZE every letter. ala Sound Choice but that seems to mess up the swiping sometimes. I think it causes there to be more pixels per screen whick takes a lot longer to "paint" and a lot longer to erase.

Changing colors in a CDG file wouldn't be all that hard. So far as changing the font goes though, you may as well start over.

mckyj57 - Thanks for bringing this up. The font change really was a bothersome issue for me. No problem with the song title. They're fine. I think that's a Times Roman font. Easy to read.

It's the artists names under the song title. The font is some kind of cursive format that tend to connect closer together, not even size 12, it's 10. I have to use a magnifying glass to be able to read it.

And get this. Big sticking point for me. The listing of the songs/artist is in front of the jewel case. No listing of actual songs/artists on the front CD itself. This doesn't help me much because I don't use the case. I put the CD in a binder. Therefore, when a singer made a mistake on the track number I have to search from # 1 until I find it, as opposed to just eject it and read it from the cd face itself. Or look it up in the book - Grrrrrrrr!

Lonnie - Thanks for the PopHits link website. I sent them this thread. I hope they address this issue.

After I re-read the post, I realized you guys are talking about the graphics/lyrics appearance on the monitor tv.

And here I am addressing the physical appearance of the CD. Anyway, I second that issue as well. I still want them to address my concerns concerning i.e., list the songs/artist on the front of the CD.
