A while back there was a post (I can't find it) about programs that gamers use to shut down all the unnecessary background process in Windows, giving better performance. Someone posted that they use one of these programs for their Karaoke computer.


I have a somewhat older laptop, that I am turning into a DJ/video machine for weddings, ect.... Problem is that when I run videos on it in full screen the video jumps a bit. So I was thinking of trying the"gaming" mode program to see it that would help.

BUT I CANT FIND THE LINKS/POST......Help!!!!!!

BTW...Looking for a FREE program, I hate paying for stuff, but if I have to pay, I will.

It is free, and it does seem to help (although it could all be in my mind )

There is another program that basically does the same thing and it is also free, just can't think of the name of it off hand.

When I use "Gamemode" I also shut it down after it has done it's thing. Then after the gig is finished restarting the computer then brings everything back to the way it was.
