The ballad of Chasey Lain.
Didn't know I had it.
Had never heard it.
Until they sang it.

Anything by Celine Dion or Whitney Houston.
Oh! And Tequila!
On a side note: Chasey Lain is favorite at one of my shows.

That is actually a really strange song.
Never heard anything so repetitive.

Spotlight then you've haven't heard it done right. I do it quite often. One night I did it and a woman came up to me and thanked me. Apparently her uncle was on that ship when she went down.

It may not be so fun but in this economy I don't care what they sing as long as they show up to sing it.

Sweet Caroline is a good audience participation song. When everyone sings, it's a good thing.
I've had several female singers that did Patsy just fine. Admit, it's not a high energy song though.

Some of those *aren't* at karaoke -- at least if you check my book.

Most of the songs you folks are complaining about are perennials on the 200 most requested Wedding Song lists and they aren't going away... So why complain about it?
So what the heck, how's about a challenge for today:
What if we put our collected deviant minds together and came up with things we could do in the middle of these way too oft repeated or tortured songs that would make a crowd (and hopefully even the singer) convulse with laughter?
What that might be? I don't know -- maybe donning a gorilla mask in the middle of the Banana Boat Song? Cuckoo clock noises in the middle of "Crazy"? Throwing meatloaf at people who sing PBTDL? Having fun without making the singer feel bad is a challenge, but I know you're the right crowd to pull it off.

Nice Elvis
I know many people like to sing "Turn the Page", but I have heard it so many times now I actually get sick to my stomach when I hear it. I cope by going out for a smoke.

Turn the Page, Hotel California, and I have a really basically terrible female singer who loves to sing Heart...Barracuda on Friday night, then Crazy On You...oh good lord. I don't smoke so I don't go outside, but I seriously consider starting every time she walks in the door.

I have one singer who picks a song (which tends to hit the five minute mark) and then sing it three times a week, for about three months, He is a perfectionist and tries to replicate the orignial artist down to every "ooh" and every breath. He's not the greatest singer (though he's not a bad singer) but I like people to make the song their own and I also have a low boredom threshold. If I couldn't go out and smoke during his songs I would go insane.
Currently I would like to ban any Oasis.
