Lonman - do you find that most of your singers have a FB account already? I've been debating on using FB versus an email distribution list. Everyone has email nowadays, but not everyone has an FB account, and I would hate to make one of my singers create a FB account just to follow my shows.

I quit using my email list when i moved to MySpace, now I primarily use Facebook as it seems most people are using it now days but still update MySapce when I get new discs or events. When I was emailing I always had emails bounce back as undeliverable.
You'd be surprised if you take the time an run through your email list & check them to Facebook (or MySpace) how many actually have an account. When I did that I found that almost 90% of my 400+emails had one or the other (or both).

lyquiddye, I'm not sure if you're still monitoring this thread after getting beaten on, but I did want to pass along a piece of info I hope you'll find helpful. I asked if you were compressing your main mix for a very specific reason. I can't tell if it's the PA or the mic on the Camera but something is compressing seriously hard core in that video and it's not a good thing.

If you're compressing your main mix, you gotta back off on it a bit. Listen to the video, every time the singer comes in with a strong passage, yell, etc. the music level gets crushed. If your compressing the main mix and not the mics, I'd consider switching and compressing the mics. If you are and wish to continue compressing the main mix, back off the ratio to something light like 2:1 and shorten up the release time considerably.

Now like I said, it may just be the camera's mic doing that compressing, if so my whole point is moot.

Yah after watching a fat guy sing in an empty bar, I just had to look at one of my own videos to get over the depression.

Yup yup yup, young eyecandy, for both guys and girls. Enjoy.

Maybe I just don't all the players here well enough so forgive me if I'm speaking out of turn, but ah heck I'll say it...

I think there's been some very useful things shared in this thread, but the way in which some of it has been said hurts to read and I'm not even the original poster. Would it be possible to share the criticisms we might have in a more positive and constructive manner?
