No, current version works with MP3+G and BIN files only.

It is not possible with this software.

So how easy would it be if someone did steal a hard drive to use this & re-add their tag over one that I put in?

The software does not allow to remove or overwrite signatures once they are added.

Great idea, sort of.
The Demo doesn't add to all the pages, though. Just the first and adds Power karaoke to the last. Does the full version display through the whole song?
I also agree on the pricing. $40 is a little steep. I might pay $20 or $30... MAYBE.. Because it's a little like closing the gate once the horses are already out.
Now if someone could just come up with a way to prevent files from being stolen in the first pace.... *sigh*

I think most people have their CD+G files in ZIP format so it would be quite the time guzzler to convert every song to folders with the two individual files and then add their signature and then re-convert them to ZIP Files. Doing that 50,000 or more times would get tiring very quickly.

ZIP support is a thing we want to add in the next release, but we want to make sure this software has potential.

Bruce has a valid point. Hadn't really occurred to me. I use zip as well. Would not only be a time guzzler but a real PITA because of the way my folders are set up.
I would say your software definitely has potential, but again, not at the price you're asking.

I cannot see anyone having 50,000 files without being a pirate. Not even a blasted theif is going to be dumb enough to put an identifying mark on something they stole. As for zipping.... (sigh) Is there no bulk file unzipper?

Yep, Active ASP's MP3+G Toolz works great.

Tricerasoft has a free one that works well.

But will those unzippers work within and keep the folder structure? What's a pita for me is that I have my files in a folder like so:
<CB>... <CB81034>... and then the file: CB81034-01 - Artist - FILENAME.zip
would make an extremely time consuming job to unzip everything and then zip it up again disc by disc.

I know that tricerasoft will leave the folder as is and send the result to the source folder.

I like this idea! I could use it because I rent karaoke/sound systems to individuals and to bars. I install the systems in different bars and the lease agreement says that they may only use the karaoke on specific nights. I could add this to the karaoke tracks and if they tried to use it other than their designated nights, I'm sure someone would let me know. Like - "This track is licensed for Joe Blow's Bar for use on Friday nights only. Any other use constitutes copyright infringement"

So what happens when they want to rent the system for other nights? Or decide that they want switch a night for this night, or.....
I would think that just your company name/contact info would suffice. Although wonder if doing that how it would backfire if someone did copy the drive & flood the download sites with your info on it, would you get busted for supplying a pirate?

Excellent question!
I would worry about that as well.
I won't even let a sub host use my computer based system for fear of them copying.
Makes for a real PITA, but what else can you do?
As for changing nights, I would think that is you kept the original cdg files, you could just delete the current ones and remake new ones with the new night. It's not like you are infringing since it's ONLY the CDG file and not the music file that you would have 2 copies of.

Lon, I have the hard drive in a locked box in the system. My only fear has been that they will use it on nights that they don't pay for. So far, I trust that they haven't - I monitor their facebook page. They are free to use the sound system for other purposes, and they do just that. They use it to broadcast sporting events and they just play music other times.
They also have to pay for anything that gets damaged other than normal wear and tear. If they blow a speaker because they turned it up too loud or someone spills a drink on the mixing board, that's their problem and not mine.
I would say that it is impossible to blow one of the QSC I28H using a Peavey 1500, but one did actually blow at one of my other shows.

That's not what i'm talking about, the fact that he would specifically put for Friday night only. If they wanted to add a Tuesday night, he would have to recreate a whole different set of tags to say for Tuesday night or for Tuesday & Friday. I just think that would get to be a little rediculous IMO. Just put the company name/info down.

You're right. Multiple night could get a little sticky.
