I am actually thinking about re-ripping everything into wav+g files - especially with hard drives being as cheap as they are these days.

Wow.
And that is going to take you how long?

Well when I originally did my set I only had 800 cdg's and ripped at 4 times speed which took about 3 months - only doing about 10-15 discs per day. But now the drives are more compatible at faster speeds, shouldn't take nearly that long. And will be worth it in the long run.

Well that's dedication.
Does the faster ripping rate not screw the graphics?

Actually I have had better rips at fast speed - at least with Hoster.

I would like anything by Bruce Springsteen that isn't already on a karaoke disc. Any songs from GREETINGS FROM ASBURY PARK or THE RIVER album would be great songs to have.

In my PC I use a pro audio internal sound card - not a typical sound card with the mini headphone jacks that most of the home audio cards have. On my laptop I use an external Lexicon Alpha. Great sound, rivals my PC internal card that cost twice as much. Night and day difference over the built in sound card.

Search for Lexicon or Emu sound cards.
There are more but these are very good.
