Previous computer crashed, so I had to move fast tracks to this one. I got a new code from invicion, but sometimes it still says I'm on the limited version. Even so, I can still build books without limit, so I wasn't paying much attention to it.
Anyway, when I rip a cdg, it names the last track as a data track instead of what it really is, and it doesn't get ripped.
Anyone encounter this?

Since it thinks I only have the trial version, I've been using CDDB instead of the fasttracks database. CDDB didn't have a record of one disc, so I'm going to have to name them manually, HOWEVER.... It ripped every song. Hmmm.....

One thing is good about it is that it is easy enough to name the tracks by typing in the artist and the title's names. when you go to rip it will ask you for the disc #.

On some discs the last track is a data track. While you might only see 16-17 songs listed in the front some discs have a 17th or 18th track that is actually data. Not music usually it's an ad for the manu but not always.

Also, on some custum discs, it's the FIRST (inner) track that is a data track. Many of these include a form ( Essential Karaoke's select system- used by several companies- in particular) of copyright protection that may be giving you difficulties. I don't rip ( disc based), but I do make back-ups and have run into this before. I just did it track by track instead of an all at once disc duplication.

I use Power CD+G Burner and I am not happy with it. When I first started burning CDG's, I was doing so for a CAVS player. I used it in conjunction with rename2 to give each file a 5 digit number. While I can still use these files on a computer, I would like it much better if Power CD+G actually tagged the songs. In case you don't know what I am talking about, each MP3 file has a tag under the properties of each file. In this tag contains everything from title and artist to genre and album. This enables you to search for an artist or song in a program like Virtual DJ if you don't have name and title in the file name.
I complained about this in a different thread and someone put up a link to a program that not only rips your CDGs, but tags them as well.

Power CD+G Burner tags MP3 files. It will fail to do so if the disc is not found in FreeDB and you do not enter song titles.

Oh my! I apologize for my post. I NEVER knew that PowerKaraoke CD+G Burner did this. I thought that this option was for only naming the file name. I do see now that they do in fact tag the disks. This is GREAT news for me, except that I am going to have to rip all of my disks again.
Thanks for pointing that out,

Don't do that. I believe you can find a program that will traverse your file tree, parse the file names, and set the tags, then even re-zip the file for you. Or you can write one with Perl, which is what I did.
Is it "Debs Karaoke File Renamer" or something that does it?

I ripped using power karaoke as well. I spent the extra $15 bucks to buy their data base.
