You guys were great with the suggestions for me and the ladies. We want to do Love Shack but it is too long.
Please suggest SHORT karokee songs so we can get up there, make fools of ourselves and get back down.

I'm Henry VIII - Herman's Hermits
Mrs. Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter - Herman's Hermits
Both songs are just under 2 minutes

In a Gadda Da Vida Iron Butterfly, not sure of the length, I'd say at least 2 minutes.

Dont get the live version of "Gadda Da Vida" it was 19 minutes. Most of it instumental only. Doubt that version has ever made it to karaoke, but it would be a total nightmare 2 minutes singing 17 minutes insturmental breaks.
Radio edits are just under 3 minutes, and karaoke versions seem about that long.

"In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" (SC8540) length listed as 2 min, 50 sec with 12 measure intro.
Actual singing time is 2 min.

I actually own that song on an SAV Nikodo disc (out several years before SC 8540), and it's about a 2 - 3 minute version of the song. I didn't know that anyone else ever reproduced it in CDG format (not that I would intentionally look to add another copy of that song into my library).

And to think I was just kidding! Short version of that song just wouldn't tell the story!

I think the SC version of the theme to Cheers is pretty short. How about Dolly Parton's 9 to 5? A guy singing that with a bunch of girls (I did it once)?

Most 60's songs were pretty short.
Gives you a lot to go off.

Almost all tv theme songs are quite short. Many less than 2 minutes practically none of them are 3 min long.
If you want a group song that a lot of people known they are a good place to look.

Trust Me! It's more fun singing a song that you like than singing a song just because it's short. Once you get up on that karaoke stage the first few times, you'll be back here on the forum asking about finding longer songs so you can be on stage for longer periods of time.
Once the bug bites, it's almost impossible to find a cure for that karaoke addiction.

Have to agree you will enjoy yourself much more singing something you actually enjoy. And eventually you will get over the feeling of just wanting to get up and back down and just get up and have fun!

Liam Lynch's United States of Whatever is a great song and then there's also Monty Python's Sit On My Face (and tell me that you love me) both are <2 min.
But for fun clean and guy and girls is the Brady Bunch Theme song, everyone knows it and will also sing along with you.
