It's so nice to know you all better now!
I was born in Havana, Cuba. Came to the good ole USA at the age of 3. Settled in New Haven, Connecticut. Moved down to Miami in 1979. Been here since.
I had my daughter in 1992, a product of my first marriage. My hubby now is just wonderful. We both work for the local phone company. He's the love of my life and I can't imagine life without him or my dear daughter.
Most people can't tell I'm Latina since I don't have an accent. If anything, they say I have a yankee accent! I may not be your typical Cuban, but I sure do love those fried plantains!

I'm afraid I can't answer that question. The confidentiality agrrement I signed with the government prevents me from revealing that.

Born Singapore (British MilitaryHospital), army bratted around some of the planet until 4-5 yrs old (wherever Dad got posted), settled in Bedfordshire, UK. There till 17, then Reading Uni for 4 years, then came back to Bedford just after the death of my Dad.
Stayed in these parts pretty much ever since but spent 7 years commuting between home in Bedford and London so it felt like I lived in London for most of that period and just came home to feed the cat, hug the hubby and catch some Zs).

Born in Maryland/DC suburbs, moved to Phoenix at age 5. In 8th grade we moved to a small town about 100 miles NE of Phoenix called Payson. Only stayed there a year (bar/restaurant wasn't my parents thing I guess). Went back to Phoenix for a year or two, and then returned to Maryland in about '74. In '83, the job wasn't going anywhere and I thought there might be more opportunity in our Chicago office, and have been here ever since.

In your thread All Forums » Singer's Forum » An Open Apology you clearly came out of the closet regarding guys, you were slapped around a bit, we thought you were back on track and now it's married women?

I've been a DJ for 26 years...I am interested in meeting up with other entertainers, possibly gigging with eachother, would like to find a good place to sing with friendly people, fair prices and a rotation that let's people sing more than once annually! Luly, An army captain once described me as incorrigible to. Not for the same reasons though.

Steven, I hate to burst your bubble, but I'm only 4 years younger than you. Yes, I'm going to finally admit my age. I can't keep this farce going any longer. I may look like I'm in my 30's, but trust me, I watched the Brady Bunch before they were reruns.
Still think of me as your daughter??

There's my heart going thumpity thump again....
Or maybe it's my hubby knockin' on the door tellin me to get off the computer!! Yep, reality has set in...
Thank you, Steven. Most people mistake me for being younger, which is definitely a good thing. And the pics I posted are only a few months old, so they weren't taken when I was in my 20's!! Just hope my next 20 years are still kind to me!
P.S. SORRY ABOUT GETTING OFF TOPIC!! Please continue.....

Born in Durham, NC....moved to Columbus, GA when I was 12....and STILL trying to get out! Started driving big rigs (and I'm not kidding, ok What Now! ) with my John in the late 70s. (Yeps....told you I was an old gal!) Got a "real job" in the 80s with the State of Georgia. Left after I reached "vested." Started hauling expedited freight in '98. Got my current job 3 1/2 years ago. Now, I drive a dually hauling a 28' gooseneck trailer to various plants for product demonstrations. (process control systems) I've been to 49 of 50 states (when they build that bridge to Hawaii, I'll prob get sent there!) and most of the Canadian Provinces. I love my job....being a paid tourist is great! With all my traveling, Everywhere, USA seemed appropriate.

I just love that people are willing to share a little about themselves. It makes me feel like I really know them. The virtual world can seem rather cold. Ok, I didn't tell anything about me. Well, it's rather boring, but here goes...
I was born in Eureka, Ca. but I've lived all over the U.S. My father just has a wandering spirit. He could never stay put for long. I've got a little of that in me as well. My Mother is the greatest woman that ever walked the earth. My Father, well, he's different. ! He didn't deserve my Mother, that's for sure. They divorced when I was about fifteen.
I dropped out of High School in my junior year and left home. I quickly realized that it was a little tougher out there than I had imagined, so I got a GED, forged my Father's signature and at 17, enlisted in the U.S Army. That was not the brightest move I had ever made, since I absolutely hated taking orders from anyone!! Still do, as a matter of fact. !
After spending more time in the stockade than I spent drilling, I was finally released from the U.S. Army and I returned to Oregon, where I worked in various manufacturing types of jobs. It was usaually hard work and since I'm basically lazy, I enrolled in school and studied broadcasting.
{Enter Diana} I met my wife on my 21st birthday. I went out to celebrate my 21st birthday. Diana was bartending. Yes, she checked my ID. ! Well, my Father always told me that I'd marry the first bartender I met and I'll be damned if he wasn't right! Hey! She was really cute, ok? !!! We've been married 27 years. Never had any kids. Oh well.
I spent seven years as a full time, on air radio announcer. I worked in mostly adult contemporary formats but also did some rock and country. Almost always took number one in the Arbitron ratings, for my time slot with women 18-34. Second with men 18-34. That was the target demographic. So I managed to keep my job.
I burned out on radio after seven years and went to work for my brother as Vice President of a company known as Hotel Express. Don't ya just love nebutism? !! Started on a shoestring and a prayer, Hotel Express is still in operation today with offices worldwide. http://www.hotelexpress.com Although their website states that the company was started in Dallas, Texas, that's not true! It was "sold" to a law firm in Dallas, Texas.
Later, I owned a bar in Portland, Oregon. If you've ever thought about owning and operating your own bar, I've got one word for you, DON'T!!! Big, Big Mistake!! Not like the TV sitcom, Cheers, AT ALL!!! Oh, it was profitable alright, and I sold it for much more than I paid, but the hours are brutal and it's just not fun!! Yuk! Not a good thing!!!
Of the many different types of work I've done, I enjoyed radio the most! Second would be Hotel Express. Only because I had my own office and really cute secretaries!! KIDDING!!! ! (Well, not really). I was also involved in several other businesses with my brother over the years. To many to mention here.
Today, at 48, I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. That chapter is yet to yet to be written.
Oh wait!!?? Did you want the short version??
Steve
