Well I plugged 1 in tonight and am quite happy with the sound overall, handling noise was disappointing, but like stated if held properly, not a huge issue. Did not have to adjust gains or eq to make them sound good.
Comparing them to the Nady set that was sent to me which I had to CRANK the gains on the mixer just to get any kind of volume, eq the hell out of them to make them sound barely tolerable and the terrible handling noise - not to mention everyone that used them that cared how they sounded refused to use them over the wired SM58. The AKG set everyone that used them tonight were happy with the way they sounded and asked to use them throughout the night (same ones that refused the Nady's). Plus I love the fact they use 1 AA batt instead of 2 or a 9 volt that the cheap Nady use.
Overall I wouldn't be embarrassed to offer these on stage & I will add them to the mic choice. Only thing I need to do now is get a new compressor to cover both outputs - which is also a nice feature as you can adjust each mic individually!

Lonnie, I am happy to hear that you like them. The handling noise is quite annoying for sure. I am thinking of padding my mic clips somehow so as to cut down on the noise.. dunno if this will work. I use those large rubber wireless mic clips, which allow you to pretty much set the mic in instead of having to snap it in. Also, we do a lot of handing mics around, not putting them in clips.

I want one. Score of 8 is good. This will be my workhorse mic & set aside my expensive dual Shure 124D/Beta58 for now. Or use them sparingly.

You probably don't want those. Looks like they would be best used over seas.. Although the multi channel thing is good, and you might be able to get yourself out of the 700 MHz range with that set. That is to be seen tho..
Even if you got the other set, you would be happy with them. The handling noise is the only real drawback to them as far as I'm seeing it.

Wow, I didn't even check the freq 700-800 range.
I called them & you were right. This particular set is for overseas consumer market. Weird at first they're willing to sell it to me knowing I'm in California until I brought the freq to their attention. Scratch that model. Many thanks for the info, Mrscott.

Only issue I am experiencing right now is an occasional 'pop/click' sound like something is being turned on or off in the building that is creating an rf signal for that short millisecond creating the noise. Not sure if there is anything that can be done about that. The plug is only a two prong. ok I like these mics. don't be afriad to buy zzounds blemished, they looked brand new and the packaging seemed brand new! the handling noise is a bit annnoying but I like them. some type of soft mic cover for the lower 2/3s of the mic would be great. like a thick rubber sheath that fit kinda tight? would probably help durability of mic too. if anyone has any ideas or happens upon them in the future for this, let me know please. thanks for everyone's help. this board is the best.

I was a bit worried about the construction myself. But we have had quite good luck with it -- I thought that battery cover would be history in a short time but I have three in service for over two years and haven't lost one yet.
