I bought this disk a while ago (a CD and DVD combo) of 10 somewhat obscure punk rock songs.
MVDA4777
It appears to be a bunch of punk rock band members who made some punk karaoke of some of the original songs that they were band members of in the past.
The DVD has some good quality tracks (with video) of obscure songs like Californa Uber ALLes (Dead Kenedeys) or Gimme Gimmie Gimme (Black Flag).
The problem is I have never been able to use the CD to rip CDG files but it is able to rip out the MP3 files.
Is anyone familiar with this disk, and is the CD actually a karaoke disk or just a "backing tracks " disk without graphics.
I have a similar problem with the "Queen Geatest Karaoke Hits" (import version with 32 tracks not Disney version). The DVD works with karaoke graphics but the CDs appear to be only backing tracks. This combo was also sold as a DVD karaoke +CD karaoke.
Are these just differently formatted Karaoke CDs that I just am having problems ripping or are they actually just backing tracks.

If it's a video/dvd disc, you will not be able to convert to any cdg type file, you would need to convert to an mpg/avi/etc. that will play in only certain hosting programs (MTU Hoster being one of them).

I have both the Punk DVD and the Queen DVD. I highly recommend them both. Lucky for me I have a small portable DVD player with my set up. The Queen DVD is great because it's the original Queen music and music videos, minus Freddie Mercury's lead vocals. The Punk DVD is incredible and videos are ingenious! They are like punk versions of old lazerdisc videos! California Uber Alles is a classic! A "Must Get", and it's at a very reasonable price now.
