I receive critique mostly from my hubby & believe you me, it's not always peachy LOL! Sometimes when I'm learning my new song, I find out later the whole time I was practicing for nothing, I was doing it all wrong... like for instance, I'd be way off on a note, the melody is going 1 way & I'm going another LOL! but ya know to me, it's all a learning process & with learning comes experience.

I can honestly say that when I do critique folks, I'm not doing it in a nasty fashion at all or trying to upset them in any way... but it always seems that I do upset them & they lash out at me in their reply comment, then they hold a grudge forever & ever... & then all of a sudden I'm the bad guy, I mean girl LOL! I'm just having fun, everyone should lighten up & enjoy cause ya don't know what tomorrow has in store for us :)

When people submit "J", I would not Critique them. When people submit "C" I am tempted to give some constructive feedback, but just submitting within "C" (within itself) doesn't mean a person wants or can handle Critique. If they submit within "C" and within their comment area state "Yes, I'm serious, I really DO want a Critique and can handle one"- well, under that set of circumstances I'll take a risk and Critique :)

It takes time to Critique, being an instrumentalist I have learned that I DO NOT have as developed an "ear" as the better singers. Some of the better vocalists on the Showcase have an amazing ear. It's hard to Critique them. I think singers have among the best ears for music. It's a constant "keeping in tune" game that I find tougher than the tempered and fretted instruments.

Subbing under J or C apparently doesn't matter to some folks here... for example, I have always subbed under J 'just for fun' & yet from time to time a person will stop by my profile & take a listen to me & in turn leave me a pretty, brutal critique comment... just happened the other day as a matter fact, if you go look at my "Jack & Diane" sub, you'll see the cruel, nasty words that someone left me. Now that wasn't too pleasant to come home to & read... I was quite taken back at first but then I thought bout it & instead of lashing at him, I took his critique with a grain of salt cause I never proclaimed to be a SINGER, I'm just here to have fun darn it!

I'm not a singer, I don't play an instrument & I'm not Simon Cowell but I think I got me a pretty good ear, I guess it comes from being around professional musicians all my life & in that like environment... but always remember, it's just my opinion.

To get back to Sir Ian's original question: "Is It Worth Posting"...

Hmmmm... Let me see... Ummmm.... NO.

But that's just my humble opinion of course. Your mileage may vary.
