Ok it seems like no one could actually give a (@$%&#!) if their gear is real or out of a China factory.
Not going there any more.
The new beta87a was clearer sharper and pleased me much.
Got to say I would still buy the fake over trhe SM58.
Also thanks to virgin for the 45 sec. warning.
The fake was indeed a condenser mic.
With a good shock mount I would pay more for it than for an SM58.

A plain old rubber band properly put on will work just fine as a shock mount although it will still be delicate when handling.

That sounds good, how would you attach it to the posts?
I was thinking of cutting an eighth inch thick piece of rubber.
That would handle earthquakes.

Just wrap it on the indents of each post!
