I know they want to keep the songs short for quicker karaoke show turnover but some songs just aren't the same when they skip a verse. I want full versions!

Then avoid the Music Maestro version of Come Sail Away by Styx. They cut over half the song verses out.

Same with Music Maestro's version of Billy Joel's Piano Man.

I'll have to pick those up -- love it for my singers who always pick 5-minute plus songs...just kidding. But I do absolutely love the CB version of Can't You See....

So that's the reason lyrics are left out? Who'd a thunk it?

Elton John’s You Can Make History (Young Again) SC8325-8 missing one chorus, one refrain:
Here’s the omitted part: “Ancient minds, ancient lives, got a way of coming around If I knew then what I know now, I'd make it back to you somehow” followed by another missing verse.
I use the complete version on Pioneer laser disc. Singers don’t mind singing from the laser version when informed about the missing verses.

The most ridiculous one that I've seen, is "Colour My World" (Chartbuster Version). Long instrumental intro, (1) verse, long instrumental outro, THAT'S IT!!! Singer standing there looking at ME, like WTF was that??? Flagged that one, NEVER to be used again!!!

Yep, that's one of the ones that triggered my mini rant.
The manufacturers really should tell us when they abridge a song. When I buy a song I think it's reasonable to expect a complete version. Selling me half a song is a form of fraud and I feel like I've been cheated.
And get the lyrics right for crying out loud! There's no excuse for incorrect lyrics today with all the websites available to check them (yes I know that some of those are wrong too).

Which due to the candy@$$ed Politically Correct twits with the Candadian Broadcast Standards Board is not allowed to be aired in its original version. The reason why? One word repeated three times starting with "f" and ending with "t". What a bunch of maroons.
But really a minute of repeating "Money for nothing chicks for free" gets boring quickly.

That is the verse left off the Zoom version, also. Would have been understandable to make asterisks there instead but they just cut out the entire verse and went straight to the chorus again. Tripped up the singer greatly, disappointed me and I had to reorder from SC.

I wish that there was a version of Paradise by the Dashboard Light that was missing a verse or three.

Zoom has a version that omits the entire baseball part.

Sunfly did that too.
It appears that the UK manu's don't like the naration part.
Zoom was the only Manu to credit most of the female parts. And, they did the double word-swipes at the end of the song (DK is the only other version that even showed the correct lyrics at the end of the song (even tho they didn't make the words swipe for the female part). I created a merged copy of the ZOOM version with the DK version of this song (where I used DK for the naration and Zoom for the rest of the song).

Sometimes they use the 45 cut for a song, and they don't consider it an abridged version.
