Just found a weird little adaptor in one of my junk boxes.

An S cable input, and dual RCAs out, one for video, one for mono audio.

I can see the use for the video out, but what good would a mono audio out be? Monitor?

Pretty wierd.... My understanding is that s-video doesn't carry audio at all...

Hi Joe, Does the s-video end have 4 pins or 7? Some of the old video cards supplied sound via s-video with a 7 pin connector. The extra 3 pins were R & L audio with a common neutral. I also have one the same adaptors.

You nailed it- kinda. 7, but again the outputs are only a video, and a single MONO audio, not R&L- and they are labeled like that. Wish I could post pics..

The only reason I come with for the mono is a monitor maybe?
