Someone will always be offended by almost everything.
There was a girl who came up to me in tears a few weeks ago while I was singing the first song of the night. She said that her mother had just died the day beforer and she needed some peace and quiet, and couldn't STAND karaoke and actually asked me to basically turn everything off and not work.....

I hate "death songs" at a karaoke bar.... such a downer. One place I work(ed?) at has a funeral home across the street... Lovely. Guess where all the grievers go for a drink?
And a few of them would sing after getting plowed..... and they would try a death song.... dedicated to the person "laid out" across the street.... and not be able to either start or finish it. Finally, I had to put a stop to it and tell them that "No, you may not stand here and tell all the patrons (i.e. give a 5 minute dedication) about how much you loved Uncle Jake or Aunt Mabel who has passed away. While we are certainly sympathetic to your loss, we ask that you please keep that to yourself."
It's a difficult situation for everyone.... and a P.I.T.A. (pain in the ....)
