Sorry if this has already been discussed in another thread, or if I'm totally ignorant of how this board has always been set up, but I thought that one didn't have to be a member of the forum to be able to read the discussion forum. That is how I found the site to start with--I did a google search, read some of the discussion threads and then joined up. It appears now, though, that to read the Discussion Forum you have to be a member. If this is the case, won't it discourage new membership? If it is not the case then what am I doing wrong? It seems like I didn't use to have to log in to read the Discussion forum, but only to read the lounge topics. Now I have to log in, and I don't like to log in all the time 'cuz I'm lazy! Or am I doing something wrong....? Nobody else seems to be having problems? Is it just me? Or did I drink too much tequila last night? Help!

too much tequila. simply check the "Log me in automatically" checkbox on the log in screen and you'll be logged in whenever you come here from the cookie that is stored on your local system. (so don't do that from a "public computer.")

I will save a lot of hassle.

Pretty sure you used to be able to read the disscussion no matter who you were, but they changed it after the last revamp. And I agree the old way would seem to attract new members. Several years ago, I would sign in as a guest and post as a guest.....glad they changed that.....peace all... :)

I can understand logging in to post, but you shouldn't have to log in just to read the karaoke forum. After all, karaoke is one of the least secret activities in the world. Everyone knows what you sang, most people know what you drank (and even how big of a tip you left). The name of the bar is generally displayed in bold neon letters, so there is no mistaking the establishment that your car is parked in front of.

Change it back! As Mr. T said in the Burger King commerical, "I liked the Whopper the way it was!"

Hadn't really noticed, but good point. Like you, I read for a bit before joining. It gives an opportunity to see what KS is all about. Not tequuila but yes too much of some alcohol tonight.
