Just wondering if you can tell me what the most stable free mp3+g player is out there? It does not have to be fancy or rotation capable as this is only for someone to play their own karaoke on at home.
Winamp is apparently out since they are fed up with so many crashes.
Thanks for your help!

Never used it, just know it's free. Built by the makers of Compuhost.

I played around with the free version of Karma it seemed pretty decent for a free player.

Been using Winamp for about 7 years on the same computer, and it has NEVER crashed. Sounds like that have computer problems, not winamp problems, which a different play may or may not fix.

Have them re-install Wianmp with he mp3G plugin to see if that helps.

I still vote for winamp

I have been using Sax and Dotty's ZIP Player for years and I can't remember winamp ever crashing on me. I think the trick is to use an older version of winamp and go into preferences and click off the "check for winamp updates" box. This will prevent you from accidentally upgrading to the newest version of winamp.

Thanks, everyone! She decided to just go ahead and buy Karma. I think she'll like it.

Diafel, Hope the latest revision fixed some bugs I have been hearing about on another forum. Seems it crashes every night for some reason. They addressed it originally by claiming that it's not the software but the hardware running it that is at fault - Laptops weren't meant to run Karma or something like that.

For me Compuhost is the player of choice. I have play areound with some of the others prior to running Comp and it has Always worked for me. I have had my computer crash trying to run to many tasks in background so I cant' blame it on Compuhost.
